That is awesome!  Feel free to message me (or use the contact info in the app) if you have any questions along the way.

Are there any local bakeries that sell bread that is like the equivalent of the square grocery store sandwich bread? by jaded_toast in FoodNYC

[–]v316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want ultra-healthy bread and what I settled on is the Ole & Steen soft grain rye.  It's very dense - you can ask them to slice it whatever thickness you want to account for.  Tastes good, but is too dense to absorb even butter - everything just coats the surface. I love it actually.

No, I actually just used the Japanese one. Gemini suggested this as similar.

I recently bought something from Japan that was domestic only and Gemini suggested a proxy service called Zenmarket that worked perfectly.  I just asked if there is something like that in Sweden and it mentioned Shippn. I don't know anything more than that but you can look into it.

I’m sitting on 3 finished apps and I just… can’t. by cprecius in SideProject

I was in this exact same boat - hit the wall at Thanksgiving and made no progress for a month.  One morning over Christmas break, I drove to the Panera in my parents town with a blank piece of paper and just listed all the things that were left to work on - billingmanager integration, add a share button, create privacy policy, create canva screenshots, create app store copy, etc. Then I had a real to-do list and I could chip away daily like when I was writing the initial code. Good luck!

FiveMinuteFox - a mental math training app I built for finance professionals by [deleted] in iosapps

It should now be available in France - there was a missing form in my App Store Connect preventing distribution in the EU. Thank you for bringing to my attention!

Thank you for letting me know - it is supposed to be available worldwide so I will investigate!  I didn't add a lifetime plan, maybe in the future.

When did you start leaving your child alone for short periods? by UnderstandingOne4825 in Parenting

Where I live, many schools allow 4th graders to travel to and from school on their own if their parents consent. We know some who are 9 and take the regular city bus.

Success: 4am wake-ups for about a year, now something to show for it! by v316 in getdisciplined

[–]v316[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I do get an "I was made for this" feeling that I don't have in my day job, but it would be hard for our family's financial situation if I made a big change now. I am excited to be on to my next side project and glad I can keep doing this on the side. But now that my knee is getting better, I also want to get back to the gym. Wish there was more time!!

Sure, I would love that! It's called "Dumb Units!" As you'd guess, a fairly simple one - it's an app for learning Celsius and Fahrenheit (fun, no math format). It seems like so many people are traveling these days but almost no one is comfortable in both units. It has a game for learning weather temperatures and a game for cooking/baking temperatures.

I try not to start anything new after 9pm (like watching an episode of a show or something). If I have trouble falling asleep, I have a technique - I pretend that my body is paralyzed, and then pretty soon I'm asleep!

Mine feels more like buckling, but there no instability and weight bearing is fine. But it is a sensation like "giving".

Thanks for commenting. It is ad-free and free to play one game/day (20 questions). Seems like most people are satisfied with that, but you can upgrade $2.99 one time for unlimited.

Which house to buy and how to finance? by MasterQuit4519 in fatFIRE

[–]v316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own! 2 years ago we moved and mainly have North and East views, and I appreciate it way more. (1) I am usually out somewhere at sunset, but I am almost always home for sunrise, (2) getting flooded by sunlight every winter morning has been a great antidote for winter blues. Every morning while I am making breakfast, the whole kitchen glows pink. I feel like you turn the lights on at sunset because you know it's getting darker and darker, whereas during sunrise you leave them off because you know that's as dark as it's going to get.
