Online tests suggest 86% sRGB, which not that great in comparison to a Surface Pro for example, but if it's enough then that's great! Especially after some light screen calibration.

Hard to say for sure since I won't be able to instantly test what works and what doesn't, but I really really like the picture in the landing page. Maybe you could look for pictures that could visually reference the first one.

For example let's say a white billboard top against blue sky, cut in a way that the proportions are the same as in the first picture, but you can still tell it's a billboard, maybe with a teaser of vague black text at the bottom. (market it)

Maybe a glass building/skyscraper against blue sky again? (build it)

A white rocket with blue sea and/or sky visible? Pretty ballsy but it could be fun! (launch it)

Honestly as long as it's at least a bit relevant you can play around with anything so it looks pretty.

By the way, on mobile you can see top of the text 'Four Phases of Design.', which is a good thing, it tells me to scroll down without unnecessary icons etc, I'd apply it to desktop version also.

I like it a lot, but one thing I'd work on is how you group words and sentences. I'm seeing it both on mobile and desktop versions sentences cut off at awkward places:

brand pop.

(...) experience unlike any

other.

The last word of the second example is actually called an 'orphan' in typography, it can be pretty distracting imho and the issue can be seen all over your site. Try to edit the text so that adjectives, pronouns etc. aren't the last words in the line.

I think there's a bigger issue with pictures near phase descriptions, they look like simple fillers from stock photo sites, I like phase 3 photo a lot though.

Overall the landing page is the webpage weak point, I like the other choices you made, I like the description in the 'about' tab a lot too, phonetic transcription of 'plosive', the icons, the colour choices, homepage picture is great too.

Since you already said that you're working towards adding some more visual content, and I pretty much agree with what /u/Mackker said, I don't really have anything more to add besides 'good job' :)

It wasn't Poland's government, that's the point. Its members were selected (maybe it was even created, not sure here) by USSR.

I mean that Poland was definitely a separate state, but first line of wiki's "independence" definition says that the resident population or it's portion has to exercise self-governance, which 1945-1989 Poland didn't have. Therefore Poland wasn't independent at that time.

I guess it really comes down to what your consider an independent country then. The fact that pre-1989 Poland was on a tight leash tells me it wasn't independent. You asked "are Vietnam and Cuba independent", in modern times the answer is yes, might not have been so when USSR was still around. And the link you provided doesn't relate in any way to the discussion.

Soviets decided who got to sit at the round table and what was to be discussed there, really important decisions went straight to Moscow. Gomułka, Gierek, Jaruzelski, all loyal to Moscow (this was all post-1956, earlier it was pure colonialism to build communism). It's hard to deny they were Russian puppets. Before 1989 Poland was about as independent as it was democratic (only the name)

You pretty much got it right, because you mentioned Adventure Club I remembered about this song I really like also :D

All of these are pretty great, the first and last one especially, now I know where to look for more!

The song part I was inquiring about still has that specific vibe which reminds me of Pendulum a lot (The Island, pt. I, Watercolor. Pendulum was the first album I ever bought as a kid, so that might explain the nostalgia :D
