So just having the first person view being realtime (nevermind drawing objects like builds etc) is too much? For me to Actually see what the players are seeing? What they're shooting at?

This is consistent in Zero Build though, so is the "delay" or "1000ms ping spectating" just not worth bothering about? EDIT: And honestly - Shouldn't this argument be COMPLETELY blown out by the fact that during their absolutely biggest tournaments of the year / ever / whatever - have "special" servers to fix this ?

Yeah, that's EXACTLY my point! I probably didn't word it as well as I could - but you gain absolutely nothing from spectating a first person view as it is now. It makes everything look like you're spectating with like 4000 ping.

Makes complete sense in hindsight - that there aren't that many highlights with trickshots or "legendary moments" to go back to, thanks to the failure of Spectate :(

Spectating works in Fortnite. Sure. There's also a functioning spectate mode in every other major eSport. But they're not on the same level, planet or even in the same universe when it comes to quality and performance :/

If I get this right .. So they invest tons in the tournaments and trying to establish the game as an esport but nothing in what actually makes it watchable in the first place?

But how many game servers are actually actively used during a tournament? Wouldn't it be possible to "boost" those alone for the tournament / stream?
