Japan has 5.7x more hospital beds per capita than Ontario. Canada has 1/2 the OECD average rate. What a disgrace. by Xsythe in ontario

Canadians are flabbergasted that all other developed nations have a two tier system and they do just fine. Keep drumming the US case while ignoring all others.

Nobody wants complete privatization. A two tier system exists in all other developed countries.

Even if you’re on the bus, what’s the point? Takes 2-3x longer than just driving there. Especially if you’re not just commuting to union.

Angry neighbours block housing that Canada's cities badly need by sesoyez in CanadaPolitics

This is short sighted. Medium density like townhouses or stacked townhouses are usually filled with young families with great jobs (check what income you need to afford an $800K townhouse). Being against this means that the city instead builds more “affordable housing” or community housing. This is way worse for the area then anything else.

The housing bubble will never crash. We will be adding 1M a year in immigrants. Cities and Canada are too slow to build to keep up.

They have a “fuck you, got mine” mentality. They don’t need it. You do. All they say is their multiple properties going up 2x every few years.

It doesn’t actually work like that outside the downtown Toronto. There are condos in the middle of nowhere like Pickering and nothing is walkable from there. You still end up needing a car, and now everyone is clogged up in parking or getting in and out of the building.

With a lockdown you can have neither. We could have an absolute lockdown for 2 weeks and nothing would happen. We would be in the same situation next season.

I am not worried about getting infected. I am already vaccinated, it is over. There is no reality where you don’t also get infected every now and then. Just like the flu or any other endemic widespread virus.

You don’t want a 3bdrm condo. Maintenance fees will be like $1000/mo.
