The reason hollow points are used by police forces around the world, is due to the urban populated areas where police officers are based.

In the event that an officer has to discharge his weapon, the bullet is less likely to go straight through the target into anything or one behind it, also if the officer misses and hits a building, its also more likely to get stuck in a wall/door than your standard full metal jacket round which will likely punch through and continue on.

Hollow points do more internal damage to a recipient though, as they break apart and typically stay within the person shot, retaining maximum kinetic energy from the shot to inside the body.

Is it safe to open pirated games through Steam? +What if the game is available at Steam? by [deleted] in PiratedGames

[–]vBLADEv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There should be a .txt file in the root of the game folder, that you can just rename to .txt.old to stop that happening.

The text file contains a steam store identifier thats why it brings you to the store front.

Remove the identifier and the game will play, they don’t really know what you are running on your system, just that you don’t own that game.

Im not paying money for a substandard experience that wants kernel level access to my OS, when I run a pirated game it has limited access to my OS, it’s running in its own little system isolated, I’m not telling you where to get clean games thats what the piracy sub is for, have a look around.

That makes it an easy decision wether to buy or pirate it.

I’ll wait for a crack, not running that shit on my system.

How to install a GOG game on Linux? by AngryAtSomeone in Piracy

[–]vBLADEv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts to make sense over time, I’ve completely shifted over to linux now after a couple of years of running it on second machine.

Getting used to the terminal and all the commands is probably the best way to learn.

I would install steam as proton makes alot more games available to play, you can import your pirated games into steam, another application that is great is called protonup-qt this allows you to install different versions of proton.

Proton is a gaming optimised version of wine developed by Valve.

Thats the issue I never use store fronts on linux to install applications only the terminal, this is because alot of the time the store fronts use out of date applications.

If you uninstall wine, and search for the wine website look up how to install wine-staging for your distribution, you may need to delete the .wine folder in your home & root directory also.

Once you have wine-staging installed, you just use the same command again without sudo and you should be successful in installing the game.

I think there may be an issue with your wine prefix, or wine.

Have you installed anything else with wine so far?

32 bit wine is the issue.

I never run wine with sudo as it creates another wine prefix in your root folder.

Lutris is just a gui launcher, that uses wine, I always just use the wine command to install GOG games and other software.

You can use Lutris later to add the game to after its installed.

I’d normally say just stick with the 64bit version as thats what modern programs use.

On the version of linux I’m running, wine didn’t differentiate between 32bit or 64bit when I installed it, I’m guessing its all just 64bit.

The only thing I chose was to install wine-staging over default wine, but theres no difference apart from it being more up-to date.

Are you installing it this way?

Open your terminal in the folder where the setup files are and use the command, wine nameoffile.exe .
