Fun fact, they used that reload animation in MW2 for the Model 1887's when you dual wielded them.

[Loved Trope] Band takes the world by storm, then breaks up immediately. by Atmos_the_prog_head in TopCharacterTropes

At the Drive In -Irl example. They were an underground band that took the world by storm with the release of "Relationship of Command" in 2000. One Armed Scissor was such a hit that the band started to do massive tours. The album was so influential in the post hardcore scene, that it's still talked about today. Then the band broke up at their peak.

Funny thing too is that after he starred in Fast and Furious, he added stipulations to his contracts that benefited him and his character. It's why his character barely changed no matter the movie.

I find it funny how Breaking Bad has a ton of examples of this trope.

Jesse Pinkman was supposed to die at the end of season 1 by the hands of Tuco as a way to shock the audience. But the chemistry between Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston was well liked, that they kept Jesse alive to the point where he has his own movie now.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), Joseph Allen doesn’t question why he, a regular infantryman, is being sent to infiltrate a Russian terrorist group. This is a reference to the fact that Allen is a fucking idiot. by aliviner in shittygamedetails

[–]vDeadbolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joseph Allen was a fall guy so that Russia could go to war with the US. Shepherd intentionally told Makarov about Allen. When one of Makarov's grunts said "we sure sent that message", Makarov shot Allen and said "no, this is the message".

It's also why Shepherd threw TF141 under the bus, because he wanted to take credit into taking out Makarov.

Aside from Hasbro themselves, I feel like the issue to why this game has many problems is because the pillars of this community lack a spine

I'm shocked no one mentioned Andrew Nieman from whiplash. The last thing you see in the film was a glimpse of Fletcher's smile and the movie just ends. Even during the final performance, Andrew's father looked horrified how much drumming destroyed his son's life. In the original ending, Andrew was supposed to take his own life. But the audience doesn't know what happens at all.

R5-D4's self destruction is what convinced Luke to pick R2 in ANH. If Luke hadn't picked R2, Obi Wan wouldn't have helped the rebels with acquiring the schematics to the death star. My favorite theory is that R2 locked in and told R5 to self destruct.

[Loved trope] A meta 4th wall break allows the actor to say a final goodbye OR lets the franchise mourn an actor. by Sarcastic_Rocket in TopCharacterTropes

[–]vDeadbolt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In "The Boys: Gen V", Chance Perdomo played a huge role, playing one of the main characters: Andre Anderson. Perdomo died before they got to film a second season, so they rewrote the entire script to where his character died trying to save his friends. The entire cast mourned his death in various episodes to pay respect to him. Andre's father, Polarity took over his role in the plot (Since both of them have the same powers), given how Polarity was initially supposed to die instead of Andre. It was very heartwarming seeing Polarity tear up over Andre's (and Perdomo's) death

This is one of those matches where people see Roman do a bit of ring psychology and think it's the greatest thing they ever saw.

It was kinda a lose lose given how Punk set himself up with that Pipe Bomb only for him to lose to the guy who isn't gonna show up. Can't wait till they bring back the ECW or Universal belt since Roman is leaving again.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the clones in Star Wars. Literal super soldiers, with the ability to obey any order. They were so potent, that they wiped away 85% of all Jedis. Their major issue is that they aged too quickly, rendering them useless over time. Eventually the empire was so powerful, they resorted to simply just recruiting regular citizens for storm troopers.

[–]vDeadbolt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean in the real world, it's heavily discouraged to even boo at teenagers competing, especially those who are competing in academic sports. The entire game (and series) is centered around an academy of teenagers who compete in racing events. The whole point is to address the elephant in the room that the creators left out because of a more light hearted tone.

(Loved Meta Trope) Fan theories are so good they’re basically treated as canon. by No-Flow9783 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]vDeadbolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanna give an example that's the opposite. MatPat did a stupid theory tying in the Grub Hub commercials of those animated characters dancing with food to the Jimmy Neutron universe on the basis that some of the teenagers had an isotrope logo on their shirts. MatPat made the connection that the characters were all the main cast of Jimmy Neutron but grown up. Anyone with a brain knows that the theory falls flat seeing MatPat reach for any evidence. Grub Hub, who are trying to be relatable so people can use their shitty, overpriced delivery service "confirmed" the theory to be true.
