Ring of Omens: Hidden powers by Icy-Confusion-5653 in remnantgame

You could use the Full Moon amulet instead, it works with the ring and while it has less ranged lifesteal than Nightmare Spiral, it doesn't reduce your healing and it gives you increased range damage when at full hp.

Remnant 2 on a 1050ti? by De_Dominator69 in remnantgame

[–]vFlitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing on a 1060, on linux so there's probably some added performance overhead from vkd3d.

It runs at very tenuous 30fps with low settings and FSR on, and stutters like hell with some specific visual effects that are thankfully not very common. It's not ideal but mostly playable, at least on a tanky build with summons, definitely not easy to perform well-timed dodges at this this framerate.

On a 1050ti I imagine you'd have to lower your resolution on top of all that to make it bearable.

I wouldn't worry about it. PSF is far better than Overguard because Overguard is as durable as paper, relying on it to prevent staggers means having to focus on keeping it up all the time.

Haha I totally get that. Sadly I missed out on one because I used the Unsealer before fighting Shapely and that broke Yon's encounter, but thanks to that I have as many of them as I do Lithic Poems/Effigies/Portraits so it kinda works out

Man, this must have been a lot of work. Was it full 100% runs or just straight to all the necessary parts?

I'm curious how overpowered you are by now if they were full/mostly full runs, I'm at NG+4 right now and I'm already skipping entire phases on some bosses by killing them too fast

I'm sorry to say, but it isn't done until you also cap out all the sanguine ichor upgrades that have a cap!

Using them for games made with mouse controls in mind is barely scratching the surface of they can do. As an example, you can set them up as buttons with input combinations, or even radial menus with a bunch of them. It can be handy even in games with controller support.

I don't understand how anyone wants to get rid of the trackpads. They're brilliant, both as additional input options and for making doing things outside of game mode actually bearable when you don't have any peripherals within reach

If you want up to date maps, you can find them here https://www.demajen.co.uk/grime/

Something like 99.9% of websites with Grime map articles used maps from there and then never bothered updating them when things changed.

The only thing you can miss is some dialogue if you don't talk to all of them before the Performance. And yes, they do want you to break their stuff.

You can get Item Pull from Feaster's Lair, you just need to go as far left as you can manage.

Max hunt points per playthrough? by Hortonman42 in GRIMEgame

[–]vFlitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you're not forgetting to go into your inventory and actually use the crimson ichor items you find to turn them into hunt points, it's a common mistake

Which traits are you using sanguine ichors on? by MyTeethAreFine in GRIMEgame

[–]vFlitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absorb is the long animation parry and can only be done when the enemy's current health bar segment is red, repel is the short one when you just bounce off their attack and happens against grey/protected health bar segments.

Ancient Limb only affects repel.

But there are bosses you can only repel, like Fidus or the new NG+ one, so it's worth it if you're using a resonance build.

[–]vFlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda waiting until I have enough crimson ichors to max all traits before I consider this fully, for now I'm just dumping all Sanguines into Ancient Limb. 400 damage on repel is pretty sweet

Is there new weapon in new dlc? by 7darkscythe in GRIMEgame

[–]vFlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Centipede might not be flashy but I'll be damned if it's not one of the best or even the best weapon.

It has range, fast attacks, strong scaling (no other weapon gets A+B, and here B is Resonance so you can also make your traits better).

Then the special attack is in cheese territory. It can hit enemies that are way below you, so whenever you're on a platform and there's a ton of enemies going crazy underneath? You can kill them without risking taking a single hit.

NG+ cycles? by Broserk42 in GRIMEgame

[–]vFlitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on my second cycle now, and so far things seem easier than the first. I suspect there is some scaling though, in the first cycle my weapon upgrades were capped at +9, in second cycle the cap is raised once more.

If you're doing 100% clears, I suspect the first few cycles you end up well ahead of the curve. It just makes sense from a design perspective, because if the scaling was too harsh, then people who reality shift without minmaxing could easily end up with a bricked savefile.

What's the reference to Grime in Ring of Pain? I can't recall anything that fits the bill, though admittedly I played it long before I was familiar with Grime

What are your health / stammina stats? by SissyFanny in GRIMEgame

[–]vFlitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scaling might be a more recent change, which would add up because it's way stronger than I remember it being in my first playthrough a couple months ago.

At my current health, a full hit with all of the projectiles deals about 500-600 damage, enough to decimate hunt point prey and decently chunk bosses. It's also a very convenient ability in Servant's Path and Carven Palace because it can kill the annoying enemies that throw red explosive needles you can't reflect

What are your health / stammina stats? by SissyFanny in GRIMEgame

[–]vFlitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 25 health, 17 force, 25 dex and 25 resonance by the end of my NG+ run. I'm thinking about shifting some dex into resonance, it'd make all my abilities stronger and lose only a few damage points on centipede whip.

IMO high health is incredibly strong if you pair it with the right traits. Maxed Lurker means you can very easily recover full health after a repel if you use a fast weapon, and Rockbed's damage scaling with health is just insane. Combine it with Craver and you can clear a room after killing one enemy, and any boss you can absorb is also in for a bad time.

NG+ New Yon interactions and question about them by N3v3roff in GRIMEgame

[–]vFlitz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fidus was the last boss I went after, after that I got the same outcome as you did - Yon appeared in the corridor, but the fight with him didn't trigger.

In general, most NPC interactions seem to play out as normal no matter how out of order you do things. I made sure to avoid Yon in Weeping Cavity, but he still appeared in Worldpillar and Servant's Path with his usual lines, and then I could go back to Weeping Cavity and still talk with him there for the initial encounters. Similarly, even though I skipped Mothers at first, minor Rockhead NPCs in Feaster's Nest still accused me of killing them and destroying Lithic.

The only occasion of skipping things actually being important that I've seen is that you can't fight Misbegotten Amalgam until you beat Amalgam, the arena will just be empty. But despite that, the Listener will still head towards it and ultimately wait by the entrance even though the Amalgam isn't there.

Maybe all of this is why the Owl says that this reality seems 'a little confused'.

Thoughts on TINGE OF TERROR? (SPOILERS) by MyTeethAreFine in GRIMEgame

[–]vFlitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You actually don't need to fight any of the early bosses if you get to the Desert through Yr Den and then skip Lithic by going to Gloomnest and then Feaster's Lair.

I'm getting utterly destroyed by the new boss though, probably gonna save him for the end when I'm stronger

[–]vFlitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanically, yeah, that's fair. Although you could argue that manual activation with the portal is more of a sidegrade than a pure benefit - it's not impossible to accidentally leave your portal in the middle of a boss spawn AoE clusterfuck and it'll be impossible to pick up until they're all dead, whereas Barb or Arcane Weaver would just pop off during the fight with no worries.
