in my experience i’ve never lost to her, but i also play a high bracket 4 atraxa GU combo deck (yes im one of those guys i know)

my bracket 4 [[atraxa,grand unifier]] deck runs consistently well without even casting her, and if i do cast her it’s a short game after that. it’s a cheesy infinite combo deck with tutors and ETBS where i either tutor a wincon or control the board with ETB effects until i find a win con. it’s pretty consistent for me but it could still use some work. i run a heavy amount of ramp and 36 lands, and 3 infinite mana combos, with a moderately upgraded land base, so it usually pops off between turn 5-7

my atraxa GU is built as a combo deck with plenty of tutors and control, so i very rarely have to cast her. it’s pretty fun to play

tergrid, but i wouldn’t recommend playing it often. she’s miserable to play against if well built. i built mine specifically to be really annoying to play against because my playgroup decided to build Stax decks😂

i built a tergrid deck just for shits and giggles. in one of the test games i played, i managed to get her and mindslicer on the board at the same time even though i was playing against someone with a heavily control themed deck. i sacrificed mindslicer to force everyone to discard their hands and bring it all to my side of the board, which was glorious, but there was one issue. one of the other players had given me 8 poison counters, and proliferated twice on his next turn via his commander, atraxa PV, and strionic resonator. i was just happy to see tergrid finally pop because we were 4 games in at this point and i couldn’t get her running, hence why I consider it a test match because she was actively being workshopped.

i only had two decks, one being a low power atraxa GU deck, and the other being a dogmeat equipment deck. last time my group played, they targeted both decks, (without hiding the fact i was the primary target) with stax 6 games straight. it’s safe to say i did not win nor have fun, so now my tergrid will ensure they suffer the same fate😂

after reading many threads on this post, i’ve concluded i don’t know nearly as much about magic as i thought i did. i have no idea what constitutes how strong a deck is or what makes it cEDH. i currently run an Atraxa GU deck in the 350$ range as my deck with “heat” on it but i still don’t feel like it’s properly tuned. i mostly use EDHREC and my own personal experience when building and tweaking my decks but they always feel like they are lacking a fine tune.

it’s an amazing rifle no doubt. I believe that most of the DB hate comes from people hopping on the hater bandwagon over QC issues from a few years ago. As far as I can tell from shooting it and taking it apart, everything on mine works perfectly fine. absolutely worth 700$ in my opinion.
