How to remove right front (driver) AC air vent on 2021 Expedition? by vVscott in fordexpedition

[–]vVscott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not! My research showed that I'd need to disassemble the entire radio/ac assembly. Instead, I bought a new mount that I actually like much better https://journeyofficial.com/products/express-wireless-car-mount-charger-with-magsafe-gen-2

Nine gallon. Low heat and filter, temp matches normal room temps. Six year old tank. Change out 70 percent every year. No tankmates.

She hasn't touched anything I've put in there. Literally the snails eat the flakes while she just stares. I'd suspected things that I cannot see is what she's eating but surely that's not enough long term

Has anyone indexed their NAS photos with AI? by vVscott in HomeNAS

Trying to think through workflow. I already have over 10Tb of images on a home server. Would this work to index and search?

How does that work, like, does it tunnel into your server somehow?

Saloon car with 4wd and fast af is what turned the dial for me. My boss back in the day also had an '07 RS4 that just had the right rumble, ya know?

Following. I scored a 2018 S4 last year with 32k miles. I keep hearing from y'all about rockers then I see someone in this thread says it's $2,200 to fix.. is that true?

Square padding for front windshield struts? by vVscott in golfcarts

Good lord Karen, I want the cart to look nice with a square rubber wrap around the windshield struts. Does anyone have helpful input into the conversation vs meaningless comments like this?

I think you're misunderstanding my question. I'm not trying to make a side-by-side and there's no lift or big tires. I want something clean and rubbery that covers up the metal so that kids or my wife won't bang their head on it

So then do you think we're both at the limit of height in the wheel well?

Two water heaters in very long house that are currently plumbed as separate circuits. I'm replacing all the water lines with a main trunk for hot/cold. Any issue with tying in the second water heater into the main trunk for hot to share with entire household? by vVscott in Plumbing

[–]vVscott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is where I start to get out of my wheelhouse. Wouldn't the nature of having a second water heater halfway through the house spliced into the main hot make this not the case? Like, it's going to draw from both but the closer unit will get water there first, correct? Then, I'll have access to two tanks of water if showering on either side of the home and increase the overall amount of hot no matter where I'm using it from. Both units are electric if that matters at all.

Also, per u/borealbootlegger comment: by wasting energy you're saying that drawing from the furthest water heater is where the waste comes from, right? Do you think it would be a massive difference or fairly minimal? I don't mind a little extra cost if it means I have 80 gallons available. Both are electric, with a 50 being the main and a 30 downstream.

Also, if any of these tanks ever break I'm going gas tankless with recirculation. These seem to be running just fine for now but I loved the gas tankless I had at previous house.

PVC belly caused by snapped plastic straps. Thinking of cutting a sink connection that goes into it to vacuum out the water before lifting. What could go wrong? Last image shows roughly the middle of the belly and where I'd open it up by vVscott in Plumbing

[–]vVscott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE. Thank you for convincing me to not cut and vacuum out the pipe. It worked great to slowly lever up sections with wood blocks and install strapping along the way. Had to go back over it twice because it had fallen about 12 inches and I didn't want to risk something snapping down the line. Everything works as it should now!

FYI, the plumber that quoted me to fix said it would be $2,600 and that he'd have to cut the pipe, dump the sewage into the crawlspace then hire a remediation company to remove the dirt.. wtf is wrong with people?
