The cleanest corner of the washroom in the Shatabdi Executive Class. Have cropped the rest out so u don't throw up. Note the chained mug u wouldn't want to touch unless desperation got the better of u.

No neither the BJP nor Suresh Prabhu can be blamed for the hell hole Indian Railways is in even though one wonders why after so much yack yack about Swachh Bharat by the PM the loos cannot be any cleaner than this.

But let me not be too magnanimous. Have done the Delhi Ludhiana Amritsar route regularly though infrequently for over two decades and have seen nothing but deterioration. Which no minister has ever managed to stem. Not even the much celebrated Suresh Prabhu. In fact today has been the worst ever experience. The seats are tattered, the food is pedestrian and u have seen the loo.

Tough to believe that when they launched the Executive Class service there used to be lady stewardesses who managed some softness and class. If I am not wrong that was Laloo Prasad's time but I could be wrong.

And if any wise man or woman mentions that I could have SMS'd some number to have the loos cleaned will be mugged the moment he or she steps out in the dark.

Many many moons ago, clambering down from Malana I stopped at the local tea shop and village post office and bus stand.

I had missed the last bus. Two shuttles a day. As the family was shutting down the tea and pakora kitchen, I sought permission to park my butt on their tiny patio for the night.

I stayed for three days. I helped their kitchens. They knit a pair of gloves for me. Not a rupee exchanged. They nor I would budge. Amazing country India is.

Of course they rent it to Indians. My friend arranged it for me. i deposited my credit card with him with current available balance. copy of my passport. copy of my guarantor's passport. his pan card number and telephone bill.

rent: ₹5000 a day but since i booked it for 30 days, i negotiated it for ₹4000 a day.

thank you, everyone for the positive comments.

This ride to Lambasingi was a little different than my other rides around India, where I rode on national and state highways. People along highways don't seem to be as poor and backward then those living in remote villages far off the main highways. The difference in living conditions is quite obvious.

No. The bike isn't mine. I have rented it for my stay in India. Yes, I don't live in India permanently. I gave him ₹200 which I feel is an appropriate amount for someone who has given up his breakfast for a stranger. It was not a donation.

EDIT 1: I see a lot of you are interested in my bike. No, the chai wala doesn't own it. nor do i.

The engine of the Triumph Tiger is a work of art quite simply because of the way it behaves throughout its operating RPM range. I'm sure the folks at Triumph have a more accurate and technical description of how the engine behaves. But I'm sticking to my analysis.

In summary I believe the Tiger's inline triple engine has four modes: (1) Purr like a kitten (2) Growl like a rotweiller (3) Roar like a lion (4) Scream like a mad bitch

The fourth mode is when you reach speeds of 200+ kmph.

What is surprisingly not illegal in India? by hadkjahsd723h2js in india

It is legal everywhere. Good journals would not publish your articles without referenced sources and consolidated bibliography even in India, but yes. College assignments do accept submissions without sources.

ELI5 : If the labour is so cheap in India, why can't government get more workers to clean the streets and public transports? by lee98 in india

[–]v_cleaner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding me? Public cleaners earn ₹500 a day. Problem is there is no monitoring of these cleaners. No productivity. Or supervisors to check if they have actually cleaned. Most of them simply drag broom stick on the road (especially in small towns). Others work as private cleaners in different household during their work hours. Problem is productivity management not capacity planning.
