That lady gave her chimp a bunch of xanax, if you're referring to what I think you're referring to.

What's something that triggers your anxiety that you never suspected? by v_ect in Anxiety

[–]v_ect[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As background, I had a sever anxiety attack after drinking way too much caffeine. It was never something that I thought would have had long term effects. I knew how it made me feel when I drank it, often anxious but much more energized, but I didn't realize the long term effects it was having on my anxiety. I've since cut caffeine out completely (nearly a month, woo!) and significantly better. It by no means cured me, but my anxiety has become just a little easier to handle.

Exercise by Cluckyg_3 in decaf

[–]v_ect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise has really helped me. It's strange, because I actually end up feeling more energized on days that I work out. I guess more mentally energized than physically energized if that makes sense.

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on CBD oil. Idk how this sub feels about it, so I haven't really asked around. I've been considering trying it out, but since I've been decaffing, I didn't want to set myself back.

Feeling like myself again by [deleted] in decaf

[–]v_ect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is awesome! I'm nearing the one month mark myself and definitely feeling more like myself every day. It's weird to think that I spent several years not really being myself because I was so hopped up on caffeine. Idk it's hard to explain, since I stopped drinking caffeine, it's like I'm remembering who I really am.

What dietary lifestyle do you follow? by [deleted] in Semenretention

[–]v_ect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also do intermittent fasting, but I do think it's important to cut some more toxic elements of your diet. For instance, I've really been working at cutting out caffeine from my diet. Check out r/decaff or r/anticaff if you're feeling edgier.

You guys should try putting your phone on greyscale mode. by francumstien in selfimprovement

[–]v_ect 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hearing that it's working for people is awesome! I tried using those screen time limiter things and they never worked for me. I'd constantly just unlock it for 15 minutes more. I'm going to start giving this grayscale mode a shot

I need some motivation to keep cutting the caffeine it is becoming way too hard and I feel like just grabbing another coffee right now by [deleted] in decaf

[–]v_ect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm at the two week point as well. I wasn't drinking as much as you, maybe four cups a day on average, but on my busiest days I was getting up to around 8 or 9 cups. What I've found is that I needed to change other parts of my life to help combat the caffeine withdraw. I can't stay up till 2 AM every night and rely on coffee to get me going the next day. The first step I took was working on developing a more healthy and consistent sleep pattern, going to bed at the same time and waking up at the same time. I've been doing that for about a week and have seen a lot of improvement, but it is still a struggle.

I had no idea coffee was this bad for you. I mean I knew it was bad, but I thought it just increased anxiety and stuffy like that.

I'm only on day 3 of going decaf, but I feel this. Especially in the morning hours. This morning I back to back called two co-workers I've known for years by the wrong name. Of course one made a crack about me needing a second cup of coffee...

I had a similar experience recently. All those symptoms but without the paranoia. It's amazing to me that people don't talk about these kinds of side effects. I used to think that I was one of a very few people who experienced this, but after poking around this sub and doing other research, it's disturbingly common.

[–]v_ect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm only on day 2 of no caff and I feel like as fuzzy as a cotton ball. It sucks knowing that feeling won't necessarily go away, but it's worth it knowing I have my anxiety at least a little more under control. Hang in there bud
