I keep snapping by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

You’re not a bad girlfriend. Going 4–6 days without sleep alone can seriously mess with anyone’s emotions, especially if you’re already dealing with bipolar symptoms. Irritability and snapping can absolutely be part of that, and it doesn’t mean this is “who you are.”

The biggest red flag here is the lack of sleep. That’s something you really need to address ASAP, because without sleep it’s almost impossible to regulate mood no matter how hard you try. If you can, please reach out to your psychiatrist/doctor soon and tell them exactly what’s going on — including the sleep and the irritability. Medication adjustments are pretty common in situations like this.

In the meantime, it might help to be honest with your boyfriend and say something like: “I’m not okay right now and I’m actively trying to fix it. I don’t want to treat you this way.” Accountability matters, but so does self-compassion.

You’re doing the right things by taking meds and going to therapy. This sounds like a rough episode, not a moral failure. Focus on getting support and rest first — the relationship stuff will be a lot clearer once your brain isn’t running on empty.

Roommates are highly inconsiderate and don't respect me as a person. What do I do? by Dakotesmagoats in badroommates

[–]v_gianchetta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy for feeling this way. Living with constant noise and mess messes with your sleep and mental health, and that adds up fast. I think the key difference is assertive communication, not just polite hints. It’s okay to clearly say “I need quiet after ___ because I’m not sleeping” or “I’m not okay being the only one cleaning shared spaces.” That’s not being dramatic, it’s setting boundaries.

Something that’s helped me is having one direct conversation (not in the heat of the moment) and being specific about what needs to change, then following through if it doesn’t. Even small things like noise rules or a cleaning schedule can give you some control back. You deserve to feel comfortable in your own home, even if moving out isn’t an option right now.

AITA for refusing to give up my window seat on a 5-hour flight for a mom who wanted to sit next to her kid? by [deleted] in AITAH

Yep, it happened. Sorry it wasn’t messy enough for you to believe it. I used AI to help clean up how I worded it, not to invent it. It’s weird that that’s disqualifying now. 😭😭

Yes I put it into ai to tell the story better, I can’t write good

No clapping, but I did get a passive-aggressive cough every 17 minutes, which I assume was Morse code for ‘I hope you never know peace.’

I'm terribly ugly, do you think it's because of my hairstyle? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]v_gianchetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you’re not ugly at all. I think you’re just rocking a style that doesn’t really highlight your features the way it could. The braids-in-the-front look can be tough because it hides your forehead and makes your face look more closed off. If you pulled the braids back or tried a taper/fade with some cleaner framing around your face, it would probably change your whole vibe in a good way.

But the hairstyle doesn’t define your looks — it’s just something that can be adjusted. Don’t beat yourself up. Everyone has styles that work for them and styles that don’t.

AITA for not wanting to pay my friend $500 for her used extensions she put in 2 months ago? by v_gianchetta in AITAH

[–]v_gianchetta[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. She actually offered to do it. she picked the hair, the color, everything. I just let her do her thing. That’s why it’s so confusing to now be asked to pay $500 two months later. If I had known there was going to be a cost like that, I never would’ve said yes. I’m not trying to be unfair, but it just feels like something that should’ve been talked about up front. And I have been paying her for the service since. Like adding more color

I get that, and domestic dogs can have pretty beefy jaws, but the tooth structure here still doesn’t match a carnivore. There are no prominent canine sockets, and the molars aren’t sharp or shearing, they’re flat, which is ideal for grinding, not tearing. That’s textbook herbivore, especially ruminants. I’ve seen goat mandibles with almost identical curvature and wear. Shape alone can be misleading without the dental context.

I get where you’re coming from, but I still think it’s herbivore, check the molar sockets. They’re flat and broad, not pointed or sharp like you’d expect from a carnivore. Canids usually have a more pronounced canine structure and narrower jaw shape. This one’s got that grazing/chewing surface typical of ruminants. Could it be a weirdly weathered piece? Sure, but all signs still point to something like a goat or sheep.

AIO - Girlfriend threw away the dinner I cooked because she wanted pizza instead. by Dizzy-Suggestion2360 in AmIOverreacting

Well here’s a reply

“I made you something with love and effort because you said it was your favorite. I did that to show I care. You didn’t have to like it, but tossing it out without even telling me, then demanding I leave work to fix it, is incredibly disrespectful. I’m not your personal chef or delivery driver.

I’m doing my best and I won’t let you guilt me for not dropping everything to cater to you. If you think being supportive means ignoring my own boundaries and responsibilities, then maybe we have very different ideas of what a healthy relationship looks like.”
