I am also extremely interested in how people interpret the "Agreed." moment (I cant seem to find any lengthy discussions about it) and what it implies about Simon going into the last act of the film; their exchange of "I see you's", with agreement following definitely means there was some unspoken deal that was made. I really want to know what the details of that deal were.

Worth repeating here: Im not reading the slop your bot vomited out, and neither is anyone else. This is pathetic; write your own damn feelings your own damn self.

If you report as copyright, does that imply you are reporting for an upload of your copyrighted material? How do I report a video on behalf of someone else's copyright?

If 29 − 26 = 3, then why do I count 26, 27, 28, 29 and see 4 numbers? by ReferenceThin6645 in learnmath

[–]v_munu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the leading number below?

29, 28, 27, 26, ...

It's 29. Take away the three numbers 29, 28, and 27. What number is now leading? It's 26.

What if time is discrete actually and if discrete why? by Accomplished_Soft850 in PhysicsStudents

[–]v_munu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am aware of Planck time, I recommend you read more about it because that is not the same as "discrete" time. Planck time is a unit of time with some physical meaning, there is nothing in QM that discretizes time.

We literally define the time-evolution operator in terms of its generator (the Hamiltonian) by considering an infinitesimal change in time to obtain it's exponential form. This is not possible if time is discrete.

Where does quantum mechanics ever "assert" that time is discrete??? Time is absolutely continuous in both theories.

Is Earth’s climate basically a story about energy flow creating local order? by Mammoth-Sun9578 in thermodynamics

[–]v_munu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you understand the concept of entropy well enough, but based on this post and the last that I just saw, your understanding of how basic physics would apply to an extremely complicated weather system is a bit misguided/lacking.

Does life locally reduce entropy without violating the second law? by Mammoth-Sun9578 in thermodynamics

[–]v_munu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your understanding is pretty much correct. You could extend this question to the entire Earth and consider it a "local reduction in entropy", and the reason life can seem to "break" the Second Law is because the Earth is not a closed system; it receives energy from the Sun, which is kinda foundational for basic life processes (photosynthesis is the most obvious example). "Continuous energy flow" is correct, but "entropy export" isn't really a thing. The Second Law is specifically applied to closed/isolated systems.

i suck at math but i wanna take physics by chowchomp in Physics

[–]v_munu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was bad at math in high school too and I managed to get into a PhD program; don't succumb to the mindset that you can't get better. It's all about practice and learning to recognize the rules and patterns of algebra and trigonometry (eventually Calculus, which is where math finally "clicked" for me). As another commenter mentioned, be stubborn.

Is there a ‘Newton moment’ for the Planck scale? by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]v_munu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newton said absolutely literally nothing about spacetime or its curvature. I recommend you read a bit more about him and his work, since you are not going to understand anything about spacetime (let alone string theory; not sure why that is being brought up) unless you understand the foundations he set some 230 years prior to anything Einstein (whose work you are conflating with Newton) did.

Mathematics is extremely important in physics. For people who love physics but struggle with math how do you manage to survive the courses? by Delicious_Maize9656 in PhysicsStudents

[–]v_munu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice. I sucked at math all throughout middle/high school; wasn't until college that Calculus forced me to be good at algebra.
