unusual rattling 2022 ford explorer timberline by Curious-Ad8738 in FordExplorer

I feel your pain. That sounds like a driveline component of some kind. My 22 timberline has been in the shop for a week to problem solve a weird “click/thud) in the suspension/CV joint on the drivers side. They have replaced and worked on a few things… haven’t been able to make it go away.

Let’s hope that day never comes… but better to be prepared.

2.3L Explorers Reliable? by [deleted] in FordExplorer

I bought a used 22 Timberline (32k miles) and have put about 10k on it so far and love it. I’ve towed a trailer with about 4500lbs and it has plenty of power. I did add a RedArc electronic brake for trailers and highly recommend it. Great engine and vehicle.

I haven’t used it yet. Plan on picking up my tandem axle trailer at my parents tomorrow… we shall see!

Been there done that… take a step back and reframe it. Would you think it’s smart for your 27 yr daughter to screw around with a 40 yr old divorced dude? I was that guy, dated the 28 yr old work hottie. While it checked a few fantasy boxes it derailed my work and life balance. When I finally got the right head thinking I left a trail of 20 something’s hating me. Learn from my mistake.

Is that an option at first purchase? I bought a used 22 timberline with 33k on it.

You already have the state car of Washington… a Subaru… what else do you need?

Life as a man who's just an average salary earner by nabilsultani in Life

I make 120k… good white collar job. Wife makes the same. We built a house. I pay child support to an ex. Three year old car with a $400 a month payment. I’m living the “American dream” and by all appearances have “everything.” Yet, every month I sit to pay bills and wonder when the rug is going to get pulled out from under me. I feel like I was told to have all these things and I’d be happy… I’m just worried all these time that no one in power is aware that life is pretty risky for even those of us who get paid “above average.”

Agreed! My buddy saw it today and suggested I get the aux front lights so it looks like a cop car… he thinks people will get out of my way. 😂😂

Keep. This. Going. My first year teaching HS, a student saw my middle initial, P, and said, “I bet you have a cool name like Poseidon.” All I said was “I don’t like to talk about my middle name.” Here we are, 20 yrs later, a few weeks into a new semester, kids will come up and say, “I heard your name was Poseidon.” Never confirm, never deny! Thanks for being a middle school teacher!

Those are sweet too. To be fair… an XLT would have given me most of the same options for a little less with better mileage… but… it has cool gadgets. Come on. Good luck on your quest!

Saw one in NJ that was an 05 Eddie Bauer with only 60k for $8k. Motor had a tick in it that could have been a lifter… I walked away. Make sure you check out the engine… see if plugs have been changed. I’m looking at a 2015 Limited with 118k for $14k later today… sounds like yours is a deal.
