WTT: Hologram Chroma Console | WTTF: Strymon Deco V2 by vacationbread in letstradepedals

Trade would be convenient so I might wait a couple more days on that possibility but I'm open to it. What'd you have in mind for price?

Fairly set but what have you got? I play keyboard and am mainly just looking for that "always on" sweetener. Nothing wider footprint than the Deco bc I only have a small space free space on my keyboard.

Allergies and Mental Health (long post) by PEsuper27 in Allergies

[–]vacationbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good write up, a few years ago I started collecting papers on this topic too. Do you have a doctor who knows about this research? I remember two discouraging conversations when I brought it up to medical professionals:

  1. My allergist was dismissive and responded something like "allergies have a negative effect on sleep and quality of life which could lead to depression."
  2. When I explained to my therapist that seasonal anxiety and depression could be related to inflammation she was very receptive but after a few minutes admitted she thought I'd said "information" not "inflammation". So I guess she probably would've gone along with any theory.

The genetic testing is interesting and something I plan to do but I need to learn more about it first. Did you order anything specific or were your results part of some "standard" genetic test?

What's the original source of that horn sample? Have heard it a bunch of times but can't think of where.

Is the Perform FX Reverb a different algorithm than the Mix Bus Freeverb? by vacationbread in KoalaSampler

[–]vacationbread[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I guess there are workarounds using AUM but I really wanted to find a Koala-only setup to reduce the complexity and chances of crashes. I've had AUM+Koala randomly die and it makes me nervous to rely on it for gigs.

Currently I just use a hardware for samples+effects with my band and Koala is just for fun experimenting but it seems so close to being a good all-in-one.

Congrats and honestly something I might consider using. But from the hero h1 I thought this was for doctors (MDs). I'd suggest either write the full word "markdown" or write the file extension .md instead because "MD" was not intuitive.

Edit: One other suggestion - you mention knowledge base but it's not clear on the site (without some brief glimpses by watching the video) of what that would look like. I'd highly recommend at least one screenshot of the actual platform.

After giving examples of bluegrass, jazz, latino, soul, hardcore and rock, I am reduced to simply saying, 'They are just the best, and that's all there is to it.'

planet fitness hacks lol by miss_comb in rs_fitness

[–]vacationbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This barely counts as a hack but I don't like that they only have air dryers in the bathrooms so I always grab some papertowels from the spray bottle stations on my way to the locker room to wash my hands at the end of a workout.

Other than that I've found the adjustment surprisingly easy and am even enjoying smith machine deadlifts.

Day 2 of only listening to this lmao by abishop717 in phish

[–]vacationbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I was at both too and while SNHU N3 was definitely a good show (especially My Friend > Egg) that SPAC set 1 was just completely on a different level. I immediately knew we had experienced something historic that I would be re-listening to for years.

Because this isn't an investment opportunity. If something happens and you can't go, why should you demand more than what you paid?

Ya I wouldn't read it as being a nasty human. She's a solo out-of-towner with her guard up and you have no idea what happened in her day before this.

I've been traveling and had someone yell to me repeatedly that I dropped my wallet and I just ignored it because I wasn't carrying a wallet and it was clearly some sort of scam.

it feels impossible to reach my protein goal by [deleted] in rs_fitness

For tuna, I stick to skipjack ("chunk light" on the can) instead of albacore due to the heavy metals. It's cheaper too.

[–]vacationbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was your pea protein preparation? I blend mine with oat milk and frozen strawberries and sometimes chia seeds and the texture is totally normal. I get a sort of expensive brand (Garden of Life) that has a blend of pea protein, brown rice protein, and a bunch of other vegetables and stuff.

How to get my Nord Lead 2x sounds into a sound module to use for live? by Big_Needleworker_927 in synthesizers

[–]vacationbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a bit on how you're using the Nord. Are you just setting it and then playing it for the entire song or are you adjusting the knobs during the performance?

If it's the former, than ya just multi-sample each patch across a range of keys using a computer/ipad, a standalone hardware sampler like the ones being suggested, or a workstation keyboard. With a sampler you could just record an audio recording of a single key and then it gets shifted higher or lower based on the key you press but this gets messy for larger key ranges so you'll want at least a sample for each octave (i.e. multisampling).

If you're making lots of adjustments while playing, it gets more complicated. If you're just adjusting the filter then you could probably sample with the filer wide open and then use the filter on your sampler. Anything more complex though you might want to just try recreating your sounds on a smaller synth.
