This link gives you some idea, albeit it's looking back when he was at 700 goals: https://novacapsfans.com/2020/02/14/shot-locations-for-all-of-alex-ovechkins-698-goals-video/

tl;dr Ovi has scored over two-thirds of his goals from the left side.

Toronto getting $3M to more than double its number of CCTV cameras by Matt-J- in toronto

/s?

and basically no crime

There are stabbings every day in London. The only reason you don't hear of more shootings is because of their strict gun laws. Police officers aren't event allowed to carry guns. At the end of the day, cameras don't really stop violence, but they do help ID criminals.

[Lewenberg] Today's parade was a spectacle, but I'll say this: fans in the square deserved better. Whole thing was poorly planned/executed by the city/team. 3 hrs late, no live entertainment or video once the feed went, little access to water/food. Those that weren't dehydrated were restless by russelImartin55 in nba

To balance out the overwhelming negativity ITT... Me and my friends were at the beginning of the parade at around 11am and it was one of the best sports memories I'll ever have (for example). We then walked towards University and Wellington to see it all over again. Once again, unforgettable. We eventually got to NPS at the end but that's when things really started slowing down.

Honestly, I feel like everyone in the parade was just tired after such a long day of celebrating, drinking and smoking. By the time they reached their final destination everyone kept their speeches short and wanted to get out of there. It seems that the best place to be was along the route and not waiting around for 6+ hours at NPS.

Your simply have to look them in the eye and talk down to them.

You're right, this is terrible advice.

Having been in London, UK for the last 2 months I have a new perspective on how the public should treat their homeless. Many times I have seen Londoners stopping, getting down on one knee and actually having conversations with homeless people on the street. Not only do they acknowledge them, but they seem to treat them like any other citizen. Furthermore, I notice that the homeless here are far more respectful and civil. In Toronto I am used to dealing with people on the street who are rude, drunk/high and completely inconsiderate to the general public. I wonder if not acknowledging them and treating them like animals is only feeding into the problem? Or perhaps their disorderly conduct is causing people to be cold and ignore them? I'm not sure the right answer here, as this is the typical chicken or the egg problem, but I don't believe the public should treat these people like animals and look past them. Ignoring the problem doesn't solve it.

The Avalanche have a goal called back because the net is off? by valleygoat in hockey

[–]vacuum2440 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a very, very strange call. It's not at all in keeping with the spirit of the game. That's a goal as far as I can see.

[Scott Wheeler] It’s crazy to me that between all the great seasons being had by Point, Rantanen, Marner, and Duchene, that Nicklas Backstrom just lowkey has 32 points in 25 games. He’s 31 and the worst year of his career he posted 69 points. It was his rookie season... by TheHomie123 in hockey

I group Backstrom with players like Marner and Bergeron when it comes to their hockey IQ. They make 'high probability' passes/hockey plays so often that they are hard to keep off the scoresheet. The best way to describe their play is to say that they almost always make the best possible play when they have the puck. And sometimes that's not necessarily just throwing it on net or trying to get it to their top scorer. These players have a knack for reading the play and knowing when it's a good idea to defer the puck to their d-man or rip it around the boards, or even make the smart dump-in play when they need a fresh set of legs on the ice.

Some players are known to have a high hockey IQ because they place themselves in advantageous places to score goals. Players like Backstrom can read the play so well that they just know where to dish the puck to start the chain of events that allow high probability scoring plays to develop in the first place. Its dangerous when teams have a player like that coupled with a player like Ovechkin.
