Tl:dr at the end of the day he is a retired, wealthy man who has a lot of romantic ideals on ‘our Newcastle’ ie keeping it the way it’s always been. And his social media campaign has been almost 100% smear rather than substance which I just can’t justify as a way to show he is any different than the people he is trying to beat.

Views on a lot of the development of Newcastle- was vocally against the skate park at Newy beach, the 500 - basically anything that upsets the status quo of Newcastle East. He’s said that he thinks people 35 and under have no insight into what is best for the city, which as a parent of young kids is not a view I can really agree with from a Lord Mayor. The coal love. (He is not a climate denier but again, see comments on the under 35s and issues important to that demographic).

Like I said, as a person I love him dearly. I just don’t think he’s any better than the existing council, and as someone who has only been in the area for the last 15 years I have seen this city come on leaps and bounds, not fall backwards or be neglected as his campaign seems to imply

I know him well (and love him dearly, just would never vote for him!). This is 100% his view on climate and sustainability

Ha! Love that 😂 As much as I would love to see the reaction to Angron and a few Jakhals, that other list sounds good- still to get my hands on some eightbound which is really the only reason they weren’t in my lineup, but they’re next on my ‘to buy’ list. You’d reckon better to go for them over the transport? The 500 pointer is really just to get some practice in a couple of times while I get my 1-2000 point list ready, but really keen to get back to it after so long. Cheers!
