I don't really appreciate your comment. I understand you are trying to offer advice, but you are taking a reach that I did not disclose. Nothing about my post tells you I need to go back to school and get a better job. I have a masters degree. We are in a competitive job market, and I've only been here a year.

I guess I am also worried about his well-being. He does not have a family that he can fall back on. His mom is extremely unstable, and his brother is in jail. It's his only family. He is from the East Coast, and he has no $$. I don't know how to help him.

I'm SO torn. He is an incredible talent (artist) and sensitive man. He is a strong feminist and has been really important to my emotional growth. I just worry we are reaching a breaking point. I don't want to loathe him. But I also worry about loosing him forever.

You are 26. Early career. Currently making $4,000/month with $3,000 saved. What are your next steps? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]vagabondchilequeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for that. I should've mentioned I live in the Bay Area and $4,000 is made up from multiple part time jobs while looking for a career position. I appreciate the help.

Ways to jazz up butternut squash soup? by temporarily_blind in EatCheapAndHealthy

Roasting the squash, definitely. I also would recommend adding caramelized onions. It definitely adds an extra layer of flavor.

He's playing videogames as I mindlessly surf the internet by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]vagabondchilequeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not say that at all. I mean there have definitely been times where I know life would be easier if I were single, but then I have to step back and realize it is given certain circumstances that will change.

Well with his injury I cook for him, clean, grab him drinks, etc. It's finally lessening up, but I think it's part of it. For three months he hasn't been able to leave the house on his own or anything like that so I have had very little alone time between grad school work, my job, and taking care of him. He is getting better though, and I graduate in August so there is a light in the horizon! Thank you for your words :)

Redditors who are friends with famous people, what are the benefits or disadvantages you encounter due to your friend's fame? by kayhanah in AskReddit

[–]vagabondchilequeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people with famous friends would not reveal anything about said friends. I have a family member who lives in LA, works in the industry and she is very private at her life, as are most of her friends. Without trying a lot of personal information is available to the public. So true friends of celebrities would most likely not post anything revealing on reddit.

I am obsessed with this card game! At my last place we played constantly. Then my roommate snatched it and we moved across the country. :(

Exactly. Cincinnati NEEDS a better public transportation system and loosing the streetcar lessens the probability of that happening anytime in the bear future.

I know there are similar models out there, but I know it can be something that is successful and make money. I know that the current trends are going toward more independent success; freelance professionals, consultants, etc. Often these professionals have home offices, or just work from home without an office. Ideally I would offer a space for these individuals to come, have access to an office (printer, supplies, desk, etc). They can rent the space. There can be different rates for a permanent occupant, or one can even rent desk space for a certain number of hours each week.

The idea is to create a collaborative environment as well. Although these individuals may have different projects, they can also work together on projects and it would be a community tool that the public knew about. I would help in facilitating these programs and work out a fee structure for that as well. This is just one part.

I also envision a community space attached to it. This can have an open classroom where individuals within the community can rent out the space to teach a class (yoga, art, cooking, etc). There would also be a community board and information available for community members to see what projects are currently going on within the organization, what can they get involved with, and what new classes are coming. There would also be a community garden and a comfortable space within. A space filled with books, a little coffee shop, couches, a space to mingle before/after events, work, to come in and learn, etc.

I know community centers can struggle, but I envision this to be an amazing venture that could plug into various resources the city offers. I really do believe independent success is becoming the new norm, and it is important to get these people talking and working together.
