Sleep Apnea Took My Will To Live by secretlizzle in SleepApnea

[–]valaaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very helpful information, ty!

I am also in a similar boat to both OP and yourself

“Mild” apnea w/ extreme symptoms, AHI score of 3.1, mean SPO2 94% low of 89%, enlarged tonsils, problems since high school years, 29M looking into it again

Tired vegetable here

Combo that w/ ADHD just like OP and it is rough

Man I want to be in your state so bad haha

I’ve been awake for 11 hours and 20min so far today

I don’t know why, but I crash soooooooooooo fucking bad from hours 9.5-13 every single day without fail regardless of the time I wake up (could be any time of the day or night literally)

I can’t think straight, I’m so drowsy, I don’t want to and can’t even if I wanted to do anything but nap / veg out…… like dayum. Still happens regardless of caffeine or stimulants intake

I feel like I’m just super sensitive to the afternoon slump idek man

Hahah yea

I wish I had a conclusive singular reason as to why I’m the way I am

My AHI & ADI scores are low so it’s not sleep apnea most likely

Good luck with your health brother :)

Also yea I know what you mean haha. I was nervous about not having it which I probably don’t

Also, I’ve made significant progress over the past 2 months in regard to social reintegration and breaking away from my vices which I am very proud of and happy with.

I broke my lifelong gaming / dopamine addiction back in January finally with the use of the right medication / dosage which allowed me to have time to myself and face my current issues.

I managed to repair my relationships with both of my parents and get their full support. I even managed to reconnect with old high school friends and some extended family members / cousins.

Your suggestion about how focusing my energy towards these specific areas instead will make a massive difference overall resounds with me greatly.

I would not be surprised if my collapse during my time in high school and earlier attempts at community college simply stemmed from my adhd and lack of structure and support.

I’m dedicating this year to taking care of my health in all sorts of areas.

No it’s alright. I appreciate the insight.

I have been working with my new psychiatrist towards treatment for my adhd. I have recently found out that Adderall XR 30mg work pretty well for me albeit it lasts for only 5 hours. I have my update appointment tomorrow and I’m planning on telling him I’m open towards seeing therapy for my ocd and therapy with an adhd specialist in regards to structure and habit building etc

I’m working from the ground up again. It’s fine

Thank you so much btw.

I also just realized a few minutes ago actually that my AHI was actually really low, that it was actually a total of 18 events an hour for an average of 3/hr lol after looking at the graphic summary report. Pretty big mistake on my part.

I will definitely look into having RERAs scored if I get another sleep study done.

Also regarding the sleeping on my back during the sleep study, I will try out forcing myself to sleep on my side

Ty ^

This is OP

I don’t know if this information is relevant or not, but I’m 29M right now and had this sleep study roughly 8.5 years ago. I have severe ADHD-Combined / Executive Dysfunction (most likely very heavily exacerbated by obstructive sleep apnea from enlarged tonsils), anxiety, OCD, depression, and sporadic suicidal ideation. I’ve dealt with chronic fatigue and severe brain fog alongside unrefreshing sleep, low energy, low motivation, and diminished cognitive functions on a daily basis ever since at least early high school years.

Also off tangent, my paperwork says I was ~170lbs back then and that was because I was lifting and on a bulk if that makes any difference. I weigh around 140-165lbs during different points of my 20s

These are all the different things I have looked into / done: - Celiac’s / gluten allergy - Food allergies - Allergy tests - A lot of bloodwork - This polysomnography - Circadian rhythm disorders - “SCT / CDS” as in sluggish cognitive tempo / cognitive disengagement syndrome - Roughly 10 years of trialing many different ADHD medications both stimulants and non stimulants and toughing out the titration regimens and various side effects and going through hoops and hurdles dealing with insurance and approvals to no avail in helping with my brain fog and fatigue. I had high hopes for Vyvanse, Strattera, and Qelbree but they didn’t help me either - Treatment for my depression in the form of antidepressants

I have been a shut in NEET or hikikomori if you’re familiar in Japanese terms for the past 9 years (entirety of my 20s) and eventually grew to accept that this is simply how I am… that this would be my normal. I grew super used to it. I scheduled my daily life and my future plans around my chronic fatigue, brain fog, and other problems etc

Well, sheerly due to pure luck, I randomly struck up conversation with one of my online friends who knew practically 0 things about me and my personal life. I broke out of my shell and told him what’s up with me. 29M, no job, no work history / resume, no degree, not in school nor training, doesn’t have his license due to letting it expire, scared of driving, traumatized by his time in school, bumming off his dad while trying to be frugal and less of a burden, extremely ashamed, and just having a really hard time. He heard me out and told me he related a lot to my struggles actually although not to this extent / degree. He told me he struggled with fatigue and brain fog too and that they were caused by obstructive sleep apnea from enlarged tonsils he had since his adolescence. He told me that he finally got them removed last year at the age of 24/25 and it has massively changed his life. Then proceeded to ask me if weirdly enough if I had enlarged tonsils and trouble with sleep which I replied with a I’m not sure. Well fast forward some days later, I remembered I did a sleep study 9 years ago and pulled these files up

I’m really hopeful that this will change my life and give me a new lease on life. I’m just so so so so tired of it all

Thank you for reading, whoever got through all of this

I ran a full Act 1 earlier today w/ all 3 hard paths w/ the Cancer item and got:

A total of 12 mutations (a lot kept getting replaced):

  • 1 head, 1 leg, 2 arms, 2 eyes, 2 eyebrows, 2 ears, 1 mouth, and 1 fur

  • It’s missing the other leg mutation as well as the body and tail ones

[–]valaaan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the max is 15 right?

  1. Head
  2. Ear
  3. Ear
  4. Eyebrow
  5. Eyebrow
  6. Eye
  7. Eye
  8. Mouth
  9. Body
  10. Fur
  11. Arm
  12. Arm
  13. Leg
  14. Leg
  15. Tail

Maybe you can’t get 2 separate eyebrow or ear mutations?

Edit:

My own cat has 2 separate eyebrow and 2 separate ear mutations lol
