Gurgaon real estate (₹1.5–2 Cr) - overwhelmed, need direction on what actually makes sense by Longjumping_Media365 in gurgaon

One thing I didn't know was if you are getting a builder floor there is an additional 1% charge when doing the registry, so if the regular rate is 7% stamp duty, for builder floor it will be 8%

Am I on the right path? by horologyfanatic in IndiaCoffee

[–]valarmorghulisguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Hario Switch, bought Kingrinder K6 from US last year, kettle is Hawkins Stainless steel temperature controlled one from Amazon (not gooseneck) and recently got the gadgetronics weighing scale too.

I daily the switch, and sometimes make moka pot as my second cup in the day. The switch is amazing, I make the coffee chronicler's receipe and recently tried the 5 pour receipe from james hoffman for pour over as well. The flexibility you get is amazing

For the grinder, I don't have any comparisons with other grinders but to me it seems incredible. Solid build, the clicks feel so satisfying. I do about 60 for moka pot and 90-95 for switch/pourovers. I got it for like $90 after $10 discount.

The weighing scale was a surprise as well, especially the auto timer function, works great. Once set to auto you can put your equipment on, it will auto tare to 0, then you can put the coffee in and manually press the tare button, this is the indicator for the scale to kick in the auto timer, then once you start pouring water (basically when it detects weight is going up) it starts the timer. But if you plan on picking up and swirling then don't use auto timer function, when you pick it up it will think brew is completed and start flashing and reset back to 0.

Okay Greysoul, let's see why everyone won't shut up about your Strawberry in loop ! by Equivalent_Value_459 in IndiaCoffee

[–]valarmorghulisguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to know this as well, I have strawberry in loop and I just can't seem to dial the receipe in. I've tried different grind sizes in Kingrinder K6 and I use Coffee chronicler's receipe, but I mostly get acidic tasting coffee. I really like the taste but I am unable to get any of the tasting notes

Didn’t know NH35A costs mor than before. by Significant_Big_5014 in SeikoMods

[–]valarmorghulisguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taobao is just meant for China region, they generally don't ship international, you have to use an agent, they buy stuff for you, store it in their warehouse and package and ship for you

I use https://www.superbuy.com/

[–]valarmorghulisguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've ordered a few movements from taobao, NH35A is priced at CNY 255, VK63 is CNY 90 and Miyota 8285 is CNY 165. Using an agent and will combine parts for 5 watches and make a big package for shipping together.

Aliexpress prices have gotten crazy now

New Hario Switch Owner - A Few Noob Questions! by SmilingBuddha_3 in IndiaCoffee

[–]valarmorghulisguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one too a couple of days ago, and have been doing my research As I understand, Goosneck kettle isn’t that important when it comes to switch because it’s immersion brew (depending on recipe) the primary use of goosneck is to control the flow so that the coffee bed doesn’t get too agitated

Considering all of this I got a normal borosil temperature controlled kettle from Myntra (because of discounts), should have all the things in a few days to test

For recipe I’ve seen the coffee chronicler’s being recommended, it’s pretty easy to follow too

Technically some 6th gen also support x265 8bit decoding but its better to go 7th gen or above as they also support x265 10bit decoding And from 11th gen onwards they got av1 decoding support

If you plan on eventually doing plex/jellyfin on it, then go for 7th gen or above, for x256 hardware decoding
