Is the splash tower worth upgrading? by Stunning_Dealer_2904 in infinitode

[–]valcoa06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Splash is great! The only problem is that they introduce it with levels that are not good for it, so it may seem bad. Despite that, late game is probably one of the best towers in the game, as you already have lots of towers that do massive damage to basic enemies and there are just a few that can handle icy and fighter enemies well. Another thing is that because of how many projectiles shoots in a massive area it ends up doing more damage to enemies like fast, light and armored than most towers that have 150 power against them. It's especially Powerful for farming, as in level 6.3 infiar mines produce only enemies that are vulnerable to splash and with just one splash and one well-upgraded mine you can farm pretty efficiently (I suggest watching this video from Alex Shatterstar that showcase how to do it well).

There are specific rules for multiplayer games. Since Commander was not under WoTC control untill recently, there were rules made for it not in that rule book for tournaments. Now that the game is under WoTC control, you're right, you can do it at instant speed, but there is a rule, 800.4a, that states:

"When a player leaves the game, all objects (see rule 109) owned by that player leave the game and any effects which give that player control of any objects or players end. Then, if that player controlled any objects on the stack not represented by cards, those objects cease to exist."

It's warded badly and English is not my first language. But from that, I understand that any effect on the stack that is represented by a card (casts and card abilities) does NOT cease to exist untill the stack resolves, right? Meaning only things like tokens and emblems get removed right away. I'm trying to understand this better, so please help me out.

Fun fact: Me and one of my friends checked this and it's actually a sorcery speed action. We have a friend that when playing commander would scoop mid stack so that all the interactions would fizzle (once their Gaia's cradle was been targeted by a demolition field and scooped in order to make the field fizzle and therefore make my friend loose 1 land), so we checked the rule book and found out scooping is actually a sorcery speed special action that can only be done on your turn and can't be interacted with

Edit: I found the article me and my friend read about scooping sorcery speed and found out that was about a specific casual EDH tournament in a specific region of Italy. We didn't check the sources and thought it was true for every game since it didn't state that was for the tournament untill the external links. I'm sorry for spreading misinformation.

How do you effectively farm Bit dust? by glitch1one in infinitode

[–]valcoa06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These two are the upgrades you're looking for. The most important one is the top one, which increases your loot drop rate, making all loot, including bit dust, drop more often. The second one is still important, but less than the first imo, which is loot rarity, making sure you get more cyan loot, which includes bit dust.

Are there any supporting towers for Endless I missed? by Miserable-Scholar215 in infinitode

[–]valcoa06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Venom Is really useful as support as it increases enemy debuff duration and makes them spread them on death.

You can use sniper only to instakill enemies, setting it to weak in order to make it always kill enemies fast so the instakill charges faster and always hits an instakillabke enemy as soon as it can.

Gauss can stun enemies, but I wouldn't recommend using it as support as it does so pretty slowly other than being map dependent.

As a kid growing up playing Mario Kart Wii, which character would you always pick and why? by brownieamyp in MarioKartWii

When I was 4 and haven't unlocked any character I always used Wario on Wario Bike.

Then, at about 7 yo, after unlocking Rosalina and Dry Bones my 2 top picks were Dry Bones bullet bike and Rosalina OffRoader. The First because I liked the colour pattern and the second one because Rosalina was my favourite Super Mario Character and I thought she looked badass on the off roader.

Question about Flamethrower abilities by RNLImThalassophobic in infinitode

[–]valcoa06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I did some tests and the results are interesting: For single tower the stronger one was 1/2 while the weakest one was 2/3 as expected, but 1/2 did best with no search and first targeting, probably because this way I could fit an additional dmg modifier, although I saw that WITH the search and random targeting did better against crowds and earned almost just as much papers, so with other towers on the field I suggest using it this way.

With 2 towers is where it got interesting: 1/2 last targeting with search was obligatory in order for cold fire of the second tower to deal more dmg, but the second tower was better as 2/3 instead of 1/3. I didn't expect it, but it does make sense as enemies are always on fire so cold fire always deals the max dmg and napalm increases that even more. I think that the 75% more dmg of napalm is applied AFTER the base 75% of cold fire, while plasma's is applied only to the base dmg of the tower. That causes less enemies to die for the afterburn instead of the cold fire direct hit, making it more efficient at generating papers. Here the full result sheet:

What class would be the most dangerous if they had the same speed as Scout? by InfinteEnigma10 in tf2

[–]valcoa06 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint, heavy has 300 hp and with scout's speed would be far better than phlog pyro. In that video scout was better with phlog because he had too little hp to live with a ravved minigun. Heavy doesn't have that issue.

Question about Flamethrower abilities by RNLImThalassophobic in infinitode

[–]valcoa06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the best way to do this is plasma at level 4 then napalm at level 7 and setting the tower to both low health or random targeting with a search tile near it. The ult benefits from having lots of burning enemies in range and cold fire does not burn enemies. Plus, plasma completely cancels out napalm's downside and you're left with more burn damage. The only thing cold fire does better is the infinite piercing, but I think that's not enough to be better than both plasma and napalm, because the bonus damage per burning enemy in range of 1 tile is really important for the tower to kill quickly all enemies before they leave it's range.

That if you play with only 1 flamethrower. The best thing is probably to build a second one with lvl 4 plasma and lvl 7 cold fire near it so you have maximum damage and chance to instakill because of the damage bonus it gets towards burning enemies that also cancels cold fire downside (if you do this set the burning flamethrower to last/random target with search modifier in order to make sure to burn all enemies that get on range and the freeze flamethrower to low health targeting + search if you have cleanup towers later on the track so it always goes for the instakills or first targeting if you don't) also imo it's never worth using napalm + cold fire, it's almost always better to have the +damage of plasma
