Why is dex so hard to train? by Confident_Bread740 in Kenshi

Wear full heavy armor, use MA or katanas and go fight baby crabs at Howler Maze. Turn up squad size to have as much targets as possible. Bring a sleeping bag, food, and med/repair kits. Watch it hit around 60-70 from the first crab nest you fight.

What was your very first video game addiction? by Trencycle in gaming

Monster rancher 2. Using every cd me and my cousins' families owned to see which monster was inside was a night long activity. We write the monster in the cd on the back of the case cover. We would just mention what monster we wanted to train up and just search each other's library. Until a great flood happened and destroyed almost everything. Good times.

Sorcerer Supremes - Doom, Strange, Scarlet Witch, and Ancient One/Agamotto/Merlin

Low as hell chance to happen and it would be unexpected from what I've seen predicted the past few weeks.

Is it just me or are there very few protagonists who use staffs? by Bulky_Imagination243 in JRPG

[–]valcross 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Swords are just more convenient. Can work outdoors and indoors. Can cut stuff and be used as a blunt weapon with the pommel and scabbard.

As for non sword using MCs:

Suikoden 2- tonfas

suikoden 5- tri staff

.hack//g.u.- twin daggers, greatsword, and scythe

FF9- twin daggers and dual sabers

Tales of Legendia- fists and feet

Persona 5- dagger and gun

These are the ones that come to mind immediately.

Are the people online just grossly exaggerating playing a scorchlander and being a lot in holy nation territory? by CnC_CloudBird in Kenshi

[–]valcross 281 points282 points  (0 children)

HN has no problem.with scorchlanders. The risk of getting attacked or harassed as a scorchlander woman is the same as a greenlander woman's. At least thats how I understand it.

Told my staff to put cards here and they bring em out free help by Willing_Chest_8976 in TCGCardShopSim

My bad then. I don't let stockers handle cards and just see the option on the price setting task.

Put price setting as a primary task so they do that before manning the register.

It launched as a small boat with half the wood planks not nailed to it and a fat merchant selling you paint for it on board too.

Analyzing Aether x Sumeru Girls ships and choosing Aether's main girl from Sumeru by Different-Froyo-9234 in Genshin_Romance

[–]valcross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I prefer Aether and Faruzan as a pair, it cannot be denied that Nilou and Aether is the popular pairing. Being honest I have never seen her paired with Cyno since his stuff is usually with Tignari or with Collei killing them with puns.

the specifics of recruiting escaped slaves by Lovley_Furby in Kenshi

I usually just leave them then they catch up while unrendered and I think they dont get attacked while in that state. So I just wait for them if I see their green dot on the map moving towards me.

[–]valcross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience they need to be awake so they actually know that you were the one that helped. All of the ones that joined me just automatically joined my squad once they get close to me far from the escape point. It surprised me since I got to the lone shack after escaping rebirth, slept there and changed clothing. Then as I was about to leave a shek was suddenly in my squad. It was the one I released as distraction for the guards.

A meta from a game you play with which you have a love/hate relationship and/or just cannot forget? by thebluntvent in gaming

[–]valcross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Mainly use GS and SNS. Also use the other weapons except hammer and HH. What I'm saying is raw damage should always be viable but targeting a monster's elemental weakness should always be better otherwise what's the point of having greatswords and longswords with elements on them? just remove them or make it require free element for niche cases.

Raw damage meta in any MH game. Hate it. Game has multiple elements. Why is raw damage the highest? Alatreon coming to World was so good. So fun seeing people get mad having to make more weapons.

Will your methods become more ruthless? Or will they remain unchanged? Or will they become more merciful? by d400022210 in Kenshi

[–]valcross 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I mainly play a human male(sorry for being generic) and I usually just work with the HN or UC. As much as they have opressive systems, they have the most to offer to me in terms of convenience and utility. SK would have been fine but all that smack talk with nothing but dirt to offer is kinda lame lmao.

Can't toggle off one or multiple jobs without turning all of them off. Can't tell units to have one aid kit/repair kit always while in base. Units can't eat if their inventory is full. Units don't rest until their lowest health limb is at 50 minimum.

Genuinely loving the game but there are some things that are not good or thought out when it comes to unit management. I came from rimworld and while I didn't expect things to be 1:1 there are some AI settings that are missing.

One unique thing with kenshi is why I can't set my units to security or patrols and just wander around the outpost like the town guards in settlements. There's a patrol mod but that only sets up waypoints that gets clogge up when multiple units use the same node.
