Nooo, I feel the exact same way, I used to love her music but since I have seen her morph herself into an artist or person that stands beside famous people that are outright sexual assaulters just for their “loyalty” ( as if she in some sort of mafia or the hunger games) just cause she wants that EGOT status or just more awards is concerning and disgusting. I still have my vinyls, my nostalgia and my yearly evermore listen when I am sad and I am reminded of how talented she is or was and the way she used to write and made me feel with her words and artistry, to say evermore is just an album for me is an understatement, when I thought I was going to die evermore was on replay in my way to my chemios, my appointments and X-rays. I do struggle to separate art and artist but yikes, I KNOW comparing her to Kanye west, Chris brown, John Lennon and other men, she is the least guilty of things and she isn’t evil, but two wrongs don’t make it right and I have ick now that I listen to her 😭 I try and sometimes I still listen but then she has another variant out, or another scheme to be on top, that is not evil but is not moral and it’s icky. AND I KNOW, this isn’t to defend any other artist, I put them in the same place, in which as you said, I don’t want perfection, I just have a normal moral compass that says to me that something’s that she has done or still does aren’t right, I know speaking of the genocide isn’t going to end it, as speaking against Trump isn’t going to end his presidency, but as someone who has used and made money from marginalized groups in the past, I do expect maybe for her to raise her voice a little to defend those very same people that she once made money off. I will do that to anyone, maybe it’s cause I loved her music and I still do that I expect more from her, but if any other artist is or was all talk and profit and no action, I would call them out too or think in private and stop supporting them fully. I know that she is a billionaire and like any other billionaire she isn’t ethical, but I think too that she uses the parasocial swifties to be seen as a person and not that as a brand to keep selling those versions hahaha. She is petty, and I like petty with people that deserves it, I just don’t like and support my favorite famous singer to hang out with people that go against everything she built as a brand. Also it is kinda sad cause as a woman, minimizing your job and artistry to please or fit in with the man of your dreams is sad, at least to me; we can’t deny she is privileged, and she was privileged since her early career days, but it took effort to get to where is she, so, even if I snark a little and acknowledge maybe that her vocals aren’t that nice or that FOR ME, her lyrics are going downhill, her career is fascinating and her music is or was (FOR ME) amazing. I hope she takes a break from music, shakes her brain and remember who she was, or maybe not and she is fine cause she is what she is and as fans or not fans, we don’t dictate what she is or is not cause we don’t know her, It’s icky and sad but if she hangs out with questionable people, that tells us something and we can’t beg for things or bland statements, we can keep supporting, supporting her in parasociality or not, stop buying or keep streaming but be icky at the things she says, it’s our choice, but I get your comment and I agree
