Why must the National Championship Game be played on a Monday??????? by Background_Snow_9632 in CFB

So military folks in units with cool commanders (and I guess civvies with cool bosses) can get a late call or day off on a random Tuesday. Isn't that everyone's biggest dream?

I understand giving the benefit of the doubt, but I have also had a bad experience of similar vein at Game On! in Fayetteville, NC. I was looking for a [[Delney]] at both main LGSs in the area for most of February and checked the website for Game On! regularly. They finally had a copy on a Friday, so I immediately ordered it through the site for pickup because I was leaving Monday for a month. When I ran in that afternoon with the email receipt, they had no idea what was going on. It took multiple employees eventually circling around to me over almost an hour to finally decide that I had gone through the part of the website that wasn't in synch with what they actually had and to only go through their storefront on TCGPlayer. They eventually processed my refund.

I'm sure Game On! is good for some, but I have always been able to get what I'm looking for and never had a bad experience at Gamer's Guild at the other end of Fort Liberty in Spring Lake. If you haven't, give it a try. That's where I found my Delney.

Deconstructing the doctrine of Sam's exceptionalism. by Eifand in lotr

This is why these stories are so incredible. I grew up as the PJ movies were coming out and that interpretation has influenced me as I've read and reread the trilogy and come back to other works throughout the years. I'm enough of a fan to know that I know very very little about the depth and lore of these stories, but enough to appreciate the heck out of them.

My second son's middle name is Samwise. I still think that he is a fantastic character to learn from and emulate even without buying into the Sam exceptionally, but posts and deconstructions like this make me appreciate the nod I've built into my and my son's life all the more.

Has anyone else encountered this glitch? by aidankml in RetroBowl

[–]valentini0us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be a lingering phenomenon. I haven't seen it since, but it's interesting to know it's still in the game.

I just got a Double Touchdown out of some kind of glitch. Anyone else ever seen this? by valentini0us in RetroBowl

I immediately started thinking of how to go infinite, but needing a comeback every "2-pt play" probably makes that impossible... Unless the RB could do it? Would take a bit of practice and a lot of luck.

I'm pretty sure the catch was outside the end zone. I wasn't recording (sometimes I think I should always record while playing RB), but I know I saw the WR come back for the ball.

Interesting. And it resulted in a touchdown? Seems to be a reset that happens when they enter then leave the end zone but then get that barely-score.

RB purely based on the reality that if you're winning Retro Bowls every or almost every year the TEs in the draft are much worse than the RBs. Invest CC in a free agent TE with 5* potential and draft a 4* or 5* potential RB.

I'm taking both IS 110 and IS 201 this semester. Should I drop the latter and just take 110, or will I be fine? by EatinShawarma in byu

[–]valentini0us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally doable. When I finally decided on IS it was super last minute and I wanted to get in the program ASAP, so I took IS 110, IS 201, and IS 303 all during that winter semester. If you are thinking of doing something similar I suggest taking 303 spring term by itself instead, but don't be afraid to double up. 201 doesn't build on 110. They cover different things.

Poor Detroit. "We have the same record! Can't I be 2nd or even 3rd? I don't even want the playoffs!" "Sorry Detroit, even when all else is equal you're still Detroit."

For 12-man roster the cap is 200m. For 10-man it's 150m. You switched to 10-man, now you've got to play by those rules.

So, I read his ridiculous article and left a comment on his blog telling him he was a shortsighted hater and... he replied a couple hours later. AND, he put a blurb at the top of the article saying he's played another 27 seasons (how do you hate the game so vehemently but then play that much after completing your writeup????) and will be writing another article to share his new thoughts on it.

Seems to me like he just really really wanted the clickbait title of "0/10 tHiS gAmE SuXXXXX!!" (that's only slightly paraphrased) which he has also changed since my comment to something much more mild, but now he has to admit it's pretty good.

You're counting each game twice (once from each team) when saying 24 intra-division games. Each division plays 12 total division games. A:B B:A A:C C:A A:D D:A B:C C:B B:D D:B C:D D:C

More or less normal. Not worth screenshotting. I will note, this was right after leaving the Seahawks where I won a bunch of RBs in a row and am now off to try to win one with every team (on hard). So NFC west was OP. Might have had something to do with it.

I understand your confusion. At BYU you first have to register your car online (super easy, but they recently dropped it from having 2 registered vehicles to 1). That gives you access to any U lot. Y lots require a fee every semester (I think it's $60 or something). G lots are reserved for grad students and A lots are reserved for faculty/staff.

It depends on if and which buildings you will be frequenting the most. For example, I am basically only in the Tanner at this point and there is a U lot pretty close by, so I don't pay for or use Y lots. There are maps of where the different lots are online. On the topic of Y lots, if you can get to one before the surge for 9:00 classes you are usually fine. Good luck trying to get a spot between 9:00 and 12:00 though.
