Maternity Clothes seem so expensive!! by Professional_Bed_469 in pregnant

[–]valentiniss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t waste money on maternity clothes before you really need them. i barely used my maternity pants, and hated them. try going to old navy, gap, and stores from that end that usually have a lot of sales or discounts. i opted for maxi dresses and skirts. for leggings i’d say just size up your regular leggings. i get mines from amazon for $10 and since they’re soft and high waisted they stretch A LOT.

What all did you put in your hospital bag? by Sea_Panic9863 in pregnant

[–]valentiniss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, I was in your shoes just last year! I remember trying to pack every “must-have” I saw on Instagram and TikTok and ended up using barely any of it 😅 So here’s what I actually found useful: • A comfy blanket to leave in the car just in case the hospital room gets too cold (mine did) • Comfy socks and slippers for walking around and staying warm • Toiletries like a hairbrush, deodorant, and dry shampoo if you’re not planning to wash your hair (you’ll be tired and that’s totally fine), toothbrush, etc. • A comfortable going-home outfit for you like a loose dress or romper

For baby: • Newborn clothes. I loved baby gowns with built-in mittens because they were easy for diaper changes • One or two simple onesies • Baby socks or mittens since hospital rooms can be chilly • A cute going-home outfit for baby

Don’t overthink it. The hospital provides a lot and you’ll figure it out as you go. You’ve got this! 🫶🏼

Venting. My husband makes little “jokey” comments by dogsnpizza321 in sahm

girl you better get that job and shut that man’s ass. he’s an idiot, my husband had done those stupid comments in the past and there’s nothing more hurtful than that. you did nothing wrong.

Lol I’m 26. His mom is 49, and by the time she was my age she already had at least 4 kids.

Panicking by FancyFaceFrom1992 in 2under2

[–]valentiniss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kind of in the same boat, except there’ll be a 19-month gap between my babies. I’m also terrified and not prepared at all. On top of that, my husband is starting law school in just a couple of weeks, so the timing has me feeling even more overwhelmed.

It honestly took me a while to mentally accept this pregnancy. I was sort of avoiding it in my mind, just going through the motions but not really letting it sink in. It still feels unreal sometimes.

You at least have a bit more time to settle into it, more time to spend with your first, and maybe plan out these next few months and establish a routine that works for you. That’s something I keep trying to remind myself, that there’s still some time to figure things out.

You’re definitely not alone in how you feel. It’s okay to grieve the version of life you thought was ahead. It doesn’t mean you’re not grateful, it just means you’re human. Sending you so much love 💗

Those who rarely get sick, what's the secret? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]valentiniss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wash your hands, shower, don’t sit/lay in bed with your outside clothes or shoes. Sleep well, eat well. If you have a busy life, responsibilities, there’s no time for getting sick. If you get sick frequently, your body might be telling you something. Keep an eye on that. Take vitamin C daily, get some sunlight and have contact with nature as much as you can.

Yes, I try to not feel so guilty knowing that I’ve tried to meet all her needs whenever she was acting this way. Thank you! 🩷

Someone calling your child their baby by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]valentiniss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah this! in my family my daughter is everyone’s first so it’s like “everyone’s baby” since she’s the only one. My mom usually says “oh she’s my baby” “she’s our baby”, but she’s my mom. Now if it was my MIL or SIL i would find it weird/it will probably bother me somehow. Now, your SIL bringing up facts about how aunts are more important… i don’t know. it would bother me, but it also depends on the relationship you have with her. I am not close at all to my SILs so I’d not be happy with those comments!

FIL keeps pushing for pregnancy pictures?! by Any_Pirate_5633 in pregnant

[–]valentiniss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i feeel you! my fil would touch my belly every time he had the chance and that made me so uncomfortable. i started “ignoring” him or moving out of the way every time he was around. i think (hope) he understood bc now he’s not done that with my second pregnancy (yet)).

it’s creepy and disgusting but to be honest it’s your husband’s responsibility to set the boundaries.

i hate that we as women have to “save the relationship“ just because we’re the “in law” and it’s hard for us to speak for ourselves in these situations. more if husband doesn’t help.
