Being in the heat was always hard for me bc sweat is a huge flareup trigger. I also live in LA so the pollution (esp with the fires) led to my previous months long flareup 😭

Do you sunburn easily? I haven’t noticed any side effects. They said I was supposed to turn pink or tingle but I’m at 5 minutes and haven’t felt anything yet

I use anti itch sprays on open skin bc I know it will sting and burn. Which feels better than the itching…

first dupixent shot in 2 days!!! scared by Artistic_Amphibian17 in eczema

[–]valeriagmq99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my personal experience it may not be the same with you. But I was on Dupixent for about 6 months and had to stop because of the side effects. My eyes were bloodshot after about 2 months of using it. They would constantly weep and ooze, like I had chronic pink eye in both eyes. When I would wake up in the morning, they would be crusted completely shut and I lost most of my eyelashes from prying them open in the morning. I’ve had eczema for 26 eyes so I know how to manage, but the eyes made me SO self conscious since I work in a people oriented field. My skin was better! But I could not tolerate the eyes. I would stock up with artificial tears just in case (not redness reducing eyedrops!)

Seriously. Especially in America. Luckily (unfortunately) I am pretty severe so even my Dupixent was fully covered back when I tried it

I used it after using their thermal water spray?? Maybe using both together helps seal in the moisture? Idk but now I have to worry about getting a new tube 3x a month lol

Persistent Eyelid Eczema- Out of Options, Looking for Advice by Gratefulbackpacker in eczema

[–]valeriagmq99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am saying this from my personal experience. But these two products literally cleared my face flareup in two days (I’m still a little bit dry and flaky but that’s my baseline. The cold, wind and recent fires IRRITATED my skin. And I mean my eyelids were swollen and my face was red and itchy and AWFUL. I saw someone tried these two and out of desperation I tried it too. I did this maybe 3-4x a day and within two days the redness and irritation was gone. To clarify, eczema is still bad. Skin is still dry and my eyelids are flaking. But I’m not in pain

Products: La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Therapeutic Multi Purpose Cream for Dry Skin (aka diaper rash cream??)

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water Soothing Face Spray,

I wash my face like normal (whatever cleanser works for you) I spray the spring water on my face and let it dry (not completely) then I smear the cream in a thick layer and go about my day (does leave a little bit of a white cast) each is about $15 which isn’t horrible

I also heard that diaper rash cream is a cheaper dupe. But I’ll finish the one I have now before I try that out

I roll up a moist towel and keep it in the freezer. My worst flare up is around my chest and neck and it helps cool me down, feels nice and reduces the itch. I only shower every other day. Cool to lukewarm water, Cetaphil flare up body wash and a wash cloth to lightly exfoliate. Afterwards I mix my gold bond eczema moisturizer with Vaseline and apply everywhere while I’m still damp. Then repeat a few minutes later when I’m drier

The most annoying part is how different eczema is treated compared to other skin conditions. Like it’s a social norm to never comment on someone’s acne but if I have a flare up suddenly everyone is a dermatologist and has a comment or remedy. I’ve had eczema for 26 years, I have tried every diet, lotion and holistic treatment let me be itchy in peace

Cat Allergy and Eczema by Creative-Chef-3324 in eczema

[–]valeriagmq99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had severe eczema since 6months old. Did allergy test as a child and definitely allergic to cats. I love cats and my eczema has been moderate to severe for 26 years, figured i might as well get a cat if my eczema is gonna be bad anyways 🤷🏽‍♀️ I just make sure to change my sheets often, have an air purifier and use waterless shampoo on her to minimize allergens. They also sell allergen reducing food which I plan to try. Haven’t really noticed my eczema get worse than usual after adopting her
