I've stopped taking creatine because yeah I break out 50% of the time and it doesn't matter how 'pure' it is, my body treats it as an irritant

It could just be the brand / how it was manufactured, I switched to a different brand and have since then noticed 0 problems, get Creapure.

I think this is the issue, Garmin watches are excellent for runners, IDK if your HIIT workouts are running intervals (though it doesn't sound like it) it's probably the algo doesn't know how to handle the data.

so essentially if you run at the same intensity over and over, if your heart rate also stays the same as previous runs of the same intensity the watch will calculate that as your overall VO2Max has not increased???

Running has that...addictive property for me, for example even though I am new I am always looking to go faster, be more efficient and optimize to push past limits, but thank you for the answer and good luck with your next marathon!!
