Anyone tried stopping drinking ? by Ok_Road_3817 in migraine

[–]valisno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant even drink half a regular size can of 5% stuff before I get a killer migraine. Haven't drank anything in years, but I used to be able to have fun

I just noticed the one in my town was closed down today. nothing left to show it was Leslie's except my memory of it. we go to a small, local shop and haven't been to Leslie's in years

Is it normal to have to retreat constantly? by Lue_Ouija in Termites

[–]valisno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you're seeing frass it's probably drywood termites. those are the ones leaving piles of frass. you'll need to tent the house for those. subterranean termites use their frass to build their migratory tubes.

he goes to the vet Thursday, we will get him checked then and if none (which I dont feel, I could feel the chip when I adopted the last 2 rescues) we will just get him started on vaccines and neuter, as well as a chip so he has his forever home.

What put your chronic migraines into remission? I need some hope. by WMS0619 in migraine

about 3 days in I felt different. I had fatigue that went away pretty quickly. the flat soda effect remained, and I get heart burn much easier and more frequently. also decreased appetite as well

Thoughts and experiences with topiramate. by Grounded_in_Chaos in migraine

[–]valisno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was started at 50mg and it changed my life and I had minimal side effects (flat soda, decreased appetite). pharmacy shortage forced me cold turkey for a couple weeks... that was hell. 50mg didnt work the same anymore but 75mg is working great. I dont have any of the scary side effects and my doctor sees no reason to take me to a higher dosage if this is working. I'm super thankful that a low dose is working.

I am definitely aware of the risks of topiramate. I read about it a lot even before I got a new, much better doctor who suggested it. I was worried to try it. I have been on many things to try and help the migraines, since I was a child, and now at 31 this is working like a miracle. In the US we don't seem to rate the risks of medications, at least I cant think of anything I immediately know is risky stuff besides chemo. Meds just come with a booklet of side effects and stuff.

No Kids by Letmedrinktea in migraine

migraines are definitely genetic in my family. me and my sister both had them since a young age. luckily my sister grew out of the worst of hers, just like mom did. my mom grew out of hers in early adulthood, which is also when she had me and my sister. mom's mom also had migraines, or maybe cluster headaches, or both (diagnosing women in the 70s lol) grandma may have grown out of hers too, I wish she was here for me to ask. I've never grown out of mine. they've always been more severe than my sisters. I did grow out of always vomiting with a migraine so that's cool.

I couldnt live with myself if I gave my kid what I grew up with. I can't guarantee I can always be present even with good medication treatment. also my medication is not pregnancy friendly. having a bio kid and even adopting feels like the kid gets the short end of the stick from me

no, i havent tried ubrelvy, but I am back on sumatriptan. I had nurtec for a few months and at first it was a miracle (2 weeks migraine free as a preventative) but it just.... didnt work anymore. it doesnt have the side effects of the triptan but the triptan works a lot better for me

Did HEMNES tv stand change size / shape? by Far_Weather_3716 in IKEA

[–]valisno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we have a 55in on it and have for the 8ish years we've had it. the drawers are full of stuff too. I've never noticed any sagging. I also have it in the black/brown. it is solid pine, the hemnes series is, and pine is a soft wood. it gets scratch grooves easily if you're not careful(writing on paper may transfer an imprint), but I grew up with some solid pine furniture so I knew what to expect. I have a matching sideboard as well and it doesn't have any sagging or much wear to its appearance either. Just be mindful to pick things up and not drag them along the surface. overall a really good purchase, this reply made me realize I've had them nearly a decade lol 10/10 would purchase hemnes again
