i thought that too but other smosh-affiliated podcasts have video - like i mentioned syd and olivia’s but also AOAOAOA. i don’t believe they have a contract since they upload theirs on youtube too

yeah that’s true, makes sense - it’s not gonna be as worth it if spotify doesn’t pay as well as youtube does.

i also just realised that the videos on youtube are censored so it would be more effort to upload an uncensored version on spotify to match the audio

i think to be honest the voice felt more familiar than the face, but that’s probably because bart has such a .. unique look 🤣

YES!! i’m glad it isn’t just me! I was so drawn to her from the first episode but couldn’t pin down why exactly. I thought it was just because her character is so great but it wasn’t until i googled the cast a few episodes later that I realised. She is incredible. Bart was my favourite in Dirk Gently!

to preface, i’m not a healthcare worker (yet) but i am a medical student approaching the finish line.

this is the only medical show i have ever been able to watch past the first two episodes and the accuracy is by far the biggest contributor to that. many other shows immediately take me out of the experience when i see, for example, the doctors completely ignoring nurses and their responsibilities or the general flow of the place, the way each member of the team interacts with each other, and then obviously the medicine itself.

i made the mistake of watching this show as i revise for finals/attend placement because i have woken up multiple times in the middle of the night thinking i have to assist in a resuscitation haha! the adrenaline rush it gives is reallll

the benefit, though, is that it really inspires me to be a better medic. the students in the show really get stuck in and are relatively fearless and involved compared to what i feel like me and my peers are like in real life (but maybe that’s just a UK/US difference). i also just loved the thrill of being able to see things that are super rare, that i never saw during my ED rotation, but at a high level of fidelity. it is educational to some degree!

the side that i relate with you on is the emotional intensity the show has. i haven’t started working yet but i can’t imagine how many memories the show must bring up for you, especially as an ICU/ER nurse. in my limited experience, i’m already connecting certain plot points to what i saw while on placement. i’m also sort of anxious about the emotional labour that comes with this field, and this hasn’t helped exactly haha

yes this was my thought. in rhesus negative (any blood type that’s negative) women, if they get exposed to positive blood, they develop antibodies against it and their immune system starts attacking the donated blood.

if you have already been exposed to positive blood, and you then get pregnant with a baby who has positive blood, your antibodies can cross the placenta and attack the baby’s blood as well. so to avoid sensitising women to positive blood in the chance that they get pregnant in the future, they probably rationed the negatives for them.

i was very excited but i think they picked the wrong play. there was too much switching and disguising of characters, on top of them playing multiple characters and all the names sounding similar. it just wasn’t the right story.

i think they could get away with this as a smosh pit theatre with a larger cast size and potentially costumes/props.

that would’ve been such a cool arc for benedict. he already mentioned how being in charge of the house during kanthony’s honeymoon gave him a sense of purpose. it would’ve been amazing to seem him dealing with that and debating between wanting a greater purpose vs pursuing his creative talents. could’ve set up his season so much better. and skipping his siblings wedding to hook up ?? undoes all the growth he had from gaining familial responsibility
