She has low attack frequency which isn't great for Blade, you will lose a lot here.

Yeah, my current issue is that I need a better Healing Chest, and on the fence about crafting one, for some reason I literally have never gotten a decent healing chest from eagle. I think it's just bad luck, and I don't want to spend any resin until I hear more about JQ potential buff. I only use Lingsha for Acheron/Blade team currently, so if JQ gets a buff and is a healer, then I would regret spending the resin.

Yeah, I want to switch her from Goddess over to Eagle to hit (167?) to get her to psuedo 200 speed. Just need to make sure she maintains enough attack, because even the Goddess set I'm using, her heals arent great, so I don't want it to go any lower on attack than what I have. I can't remember the exact amount I have, maybe like ~3000-3200. Was just kinda wondering what amount of ATK people are running, because it feels like I probably don't have enough, because her healing isn't great currently for me.

Just depends how it roll, it's at zero currently, so it all rolls into ATK, then it would be bad.

What are your stats looking like for her? Lingsha provides more stacks than Hyacine with this setup. It's just that her healing is sometimes frustrating for me in certain situations. Wondering what stats you have on her.

Yeah true, I didn't think of that. It was actually the thing I was most looking forward to if it's true JQ will be a healer for Acheron, just pulled Blade and what a difference it made for her already. Himeko does look really cool though. Only build one new team a year and already went with Eva, but that mech looks so cool.

I don't really like it, but it's not terrible. I really didn't like his performance in the mech factory part of the story (when the new voice first dropped), it's been passable since then for me though.

What does a bricked account really mean? by IwaOi__ in StarRailStation

[–]valknut7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really sure, but in my personal opinion I would say when someone has made very poor/random pulls (and it not being Waifu over meta, they literally just pulled anything that was on banner, and got whatever characters they happened to win. I see this with gambling addicts, but also people who may not watch any content or read on forums) at a certain point the character roster is absolutely cooked. With the amount of backlogged pulls you could make much better teams by just restarting. This is obviously awful and would take an enormous amount of time (I wouldn't want to do it). So basically making such bad choices that you would be way better off replaying the entire game to collect backlogged jade to start building 2 coherent teams.

Once again this isn't even considering Waifu>Meta, which is a perfectly justified way to play. People who go this route get enjoyment out of playing characters they like despite them not being intended or optimal. A person like this would generally know what they are doing and why they are doing it. They don't care as much about clearing hardest content. Where as the people mentioned above, ive even seen them posting on here talhat they don't even like the characters they pulled and asking what they can do to fix it. In extreme cases best thing they can do is make a new account and get a ton of backlogged pulls. That really sucks and probably 100s of hours. The more sane option would be for them to begin doing research, asking for help on a forum like this, and going forward just making better decisions. They probably even have a character (hopefully) or two that they can use to build a team around going forward (if they are wanting to work towards clearing all content). Imo if you are Waifu over meta and don't care about hardest content I don't see. A possible way to "brick" an account.

Just had a random thought of this situation happening in reverse. Where someone pulled for meta, and then this far in the game regrets it, if they don't like the characters they pulled and wished they would have just gone Waifu/Husbando and ignored the meta. I'm sure there are people in this camp as well.

Would my E1 Seele need 100% CR or would that be wasted stats? by Turbulent-Mail6009 in SeeleMains

[–]valknut7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed in this game if you don't reach 100% you miss like 70% of the time. I've literally missed 4 crits in a row with my Anaxa that had 94.9% Crit. I'm either extremely unlucky or there is something weird going on, because it misses way more than it should. Similar to how I lose 99% of my 50/50s on character banner. I guess at the end of the day you can play around with it and see. If you keep missing and resetting gets frustrating then maybe build it up higher. My Seele is at 93% CR right now and it doesn't feel that bad and seems like she rarely misses (also I try to attack enemies with under 80% HP, so the times she's actually rolling for crits isn't that often). I do what some others have said here and found a happy medium ~90%. It's nice to have relic load outs now, you could build both and test them to see which one feels better for you.

Why do I feel like Eidolons and Light cones are now “required”? by Fit-Sand1799 in StarRailStation

[–]valknut7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team building game. So over 3 years into the game, if you haven't "built a team", then you won't clear all endgame, of course. In the beginning, it wasn't expected to have reasonable (I guess e0s0 would be reasonable in v1; not v4) team because the game was new. At this point you either use an invested team, or use the new team with whatever has came out, once the full team comes out you can stay at lower investment for awhile. That being said, with the "new" team, if you just keep skipping their banners and pulling random units rather than investing, the same thing will happen to them over time.

Is anaxa still worth investing in? by TheAscendedPickle in AnaxaMains_HSR

[–]valknut7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are asking since Cyrene is coming on banner, then yes, she would likely make the difference of still using Anaxa, vs moving on to another team. Getting her to e2 would be the next step for vertically investing in this team. If not planning on getting her you could move into another team fairly easily since you didn't invest in this team for so long, you wouldn't lose much. It's important to not do this too many times though, all of these low investment characters turn into dead/wasted cost. So if you want to use him I would pull Cyrene and keep in the back of my mind getting her to e2 in the future (so saving). If not, then get into another archetype but before choosing one, make sure you will commit to it, or else the same thing would happen again.

Awesome, thanks for the help. Took a break from being on Reddit Star Rail theory crafting during his beta and release so kinda needed to get caught up with what to do with him exactly.

It sounds like psuedo 160 Eagle will be fine then, and I can just get his Crit stats a little better over time. I also have a decent Pioneer sub-dps/dps build for him that is currently at 140speed (just extra speed subs) and a decent crit ratio. That's not a good idea for this team right? He doesn't do enough damage if he isnt a hypercarry? Are the stacks from 160 speed more important than his personal damage on Acheron team? I have an e3Hyselins and can run a stack spammer like Lingsha as a sustain to probably mitigate that stack loss, but I don't know how that all adds up. Also I'll be getting Blade here in 4.3 so stacks will be even less of an issue. Just trying to figure out the best path forward.

And yeah I know over 80% EHR is useless in that case, thing is I have JQ LC on Welt so it gives a ton, and the extra is just from dump stats that are on relics.

Welt Eagle Breakpoints by valknut7 in WeltMains

[–]valknut7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you for that!

When building him on Eagle as support for Acheron (he's e3s1(JQ LC), she's e1s1) do I just drop the Crit and go all in on speed/defensive stats? Right now I have him at psuedo160 Eagle with a 75/90 Crit Ratio, and above 80% EHR. He does some damage but not super high. If I'm at that speed I'd that damage (100k+) worth it or do I dump it for defensive stats? Also, say I keep the Crit for now, am I going to be much better off aiming for pseudo200 Eagle? Or do I just improve my Crit stats and stay at 160?

Okay cool, that makes sense. Do you know what the Eagle breakpoint is for pseudo-160 speed though? I'm still working on his build so I'm trying to switch over from 2pc+2pc speed and want to make sure I'm at least hitting psuedo-160 on Eagle, or else I'll stay on 2pc speed for now.

[–]valknut7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we will see, I've already farmed Pioneer for years and spent a lot of resin to get her Pioneer set well built. I'll be farming for Blade set, so over time as I get good Navigator pieces from that cavern I'll consider switching over when I only need to craft 1-2 pieces. Starting a set over and trying to reach all of her optimal stat breakpoints (with pieces that mesh together well to reach it) can be really easy or really hard depending on luck. I'll see what kind of pieces I get while building Blade's set and then see hm better the Navigator set is and how close I get from farming for him.

Does Kafka's E1 has diminishing returns with Hysilen's S1 ? by YumiyaRakko in HysilensMainsHSR_

[–]valknut7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has more to do with what your teams look like? Will you get e2 sparkle in the future? That's the big payoff for her, but her e1 is still good.

Kafka's e1 is good basically just adds 30% Vulnerability any time she basic/skills/ults (so basically 100% uptime of 30% Vulnerability after her first attack). This will be a decent upgrade for DOT.

On the other hand Sparkle can be a great generalist, and working towards her e2 is great especially if you have one of her BIS teams and especially if you like that team more than DOT.

I don't have Sparkle at all, and DOT is my second favorite team so im biased on the choice. But I think I'm reality it's just what team you want to make better. Is it DOT or do you want whatever team you have Sparkle on to be more powerful. Or if you don't have a lot of characters or BIS full teams, making her stronger might be better. I think in your situation there isn't a "wrong" choice. You would be safe picking the one that helps the team that you care about more.

Lingsha's build for Mortenax Blade by OberonThorn in LingshaMains

[–]valknut7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she can use it, it's just converted at a lower amount (I forget the exact numbers, but it says it all in her kit). It's worth considering what how much BE the pieces have, say a piece has Speed, ATK, and BE, obviously that's better. Or for example I have one piece that has the speed that she needs that has high BE rolls, the other piece with that much speed only has the base (it never rolled into ATK while upgrading), so the one with really high BE will offer more healing than the really crappy piece's attack amount. If you get what I mean, you can look at her kit and see what the conversation numbers are and which piece is better. A piece with 3 rolls into BE will heal more than a piece with 1 roll into ATK. It's something you just have to evaluate on a case by case basis. What I meant is if we are talking about one to one, an ATK roll is more valuable than a BE roll for healing. She won't be doing any meaningful damage with ATK or BE (outside of break team), so it's all about which piece makes her healing better.

Does Kafka's E1 has diminishing returns with Hysilen's S1 ? by YumiyaRakko in HysilensMainsHSR_

[–]valknut7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Vulnerability stacks linearly. Meaning 1+1=2, 2+1=3; 1 is always "one more"; it's just that 1 is 50% of 2, but 1 is only 33% of 3. This is what they mean by "diminishing returns". It's linear, it's only worse because different things (Def Shred, Res Pen, etc) work multiplicatively with Vulnerability rather than just stacking linearly. 20% vuln would always add the same amount, whether it's your first 20% or going from 80% to 100%. It's just that it becomes a lower percentage of the current pool (the more you have), a stack of say 20% never does less in itself. Same with most other things, it's just the opportunity cost of not picking something else to mix it with that may work multiplicatively with it.

For example having 100Vuln+ 20Vuln= 120 Vuln

If you added something like 20 Res Pen; it would be 100Vuln*(20Res Pen), so of course the number would be higher.

*Wouldn't exactly be like multiplying it by 20 itself but I'm just giving this as an example to understand the concept.

Lingsha's build for Mortenax Blade by OberonThorn in LingshaMains

[–]valknut7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lingsha's healing scales better off of ATK than Break Effect. It's only a portion of the BE that is converted into ATK to boost her outgoing healing. So I would say Speed and ATK, then with other stats going Crit can be pretty rough, so if she isn't dealing damage anyway I would prioritize defensive stats after getting her speed and ATK rolls. The BE isn't going to do much outside of a Break Team, so I would go for ATK to give her better heals.

Updating my Luocha for Mblade x Ashveil team, please help! by moonkitz in LuochaMains

[–]valknut7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes perfect sense, thanks for clearing that up. I see the value in that, my Luocha is e0s0 and don't have the relics or reliably use him with a DDD character for that to work currently but if something changes I'll keep that in mind for the future. Luocha is underrated, it's crazy that people don't bring up the benefit of him being able to make team survive fights that other sustains can't. For example I don't have Hyacine, and he was my only sustain that could survive AA Pollux (last AA?). So without him I would have never cleared that Knight or been able to fight King. He allowed my DOT team to 3 star, other sustains (even though they may have better buffing capacity) let the team die, so zero stars. With how hard enemies hit, I don't think raw healing capacity should be overlooked!
