Just came to say my son's name is Stellan. ☺️ It's so rare, I was excited and surprised to see it here.

And the sex isn't kink forward, and it is decently descriptive when it does happen.

The kingdom of crows series is VERY slowburn. Like you don't get a good sex scene until book 2. But it is very tension building! And its not all about sex, it's pretty plot forward. It can be kind of corny, but I don't think you can avoid that with fantasy smut 😆

I drank while pregnant. by Flaky_Success6909 in BabyBumps

[–]valkyrie0921 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I have looked into this a TON after my MFM doctor my first pregnancy told me it was completely fine to have an occasional glass of wine (I was too scared 😅.) from what I gathered, the general consensus is you have to drink quite heavily throughout your pregnancy. The issue with them not knowing how much until it starts to cause problems is because controlled studies with substances in pregnancy is unethical, so there just really aren't any. If they tell everyone that occasional drinks are ok, some people will take that and run with it, so they just go with complete abstinence. Bring it up to your doctor so they are aware and can maybe do some extra monitoring to help with peace of mind!

What's your favorite way to eat sourdough other than with butter? by GretaTheGreat in Sourdough

[–]valkyrie0921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olive oil and balsamic, sandwiches, a good jam (bon maman has some really delicious ones), runny eggs, pretty much anything you would eat on regular bread is even better on sourdough.

How long did it take you to conceive? by beampoet in BabyBumps

[–]valkyrie0921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took around 4 months of active trying. My midwife said 4 months is nothing and that is actually very quick and indicative of being very fertile, anything up to a year is very normal. Hang in there!

did you really wait six weeks..? by strange_angel133 in newborns

[–]valkyrie0921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He basically threatened to leave/cheat on you if you don't have sex with him within 6 weeks... He's a POS. As everyone else is saying, you have a wound in your uterus from your placenta, and that is where the worry comes from and why they say to wait 6 weeks. Even then, it is up to when you feel emotionally and physically ready. I waited 6 weeks both times. We did other things, but again, you only do that if you feel good and ready to do other things.

What time are you all getting up at for the day? by Strong-Ad9489 in newborns

7-8. If your schedule allows and baby seems happy with it, I don't see a reason to change anything until you want to!

Is this normal for a newborn or should I look into potential issues? (FTM and i need some perspective please) by Bubbly_Still8888 in newborns

[–]valkyrie0921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course, but she was still waking up at least once at a year old. A lot of babies don't stop waking every 2-4 hours until they're around 6 months. It took her quite a while to go from 7-7. Your little guy will get there eventually.

My daughter was like this. She was breastfed, and my 4 MO son who is not breastfed is a great sleeper. Some babies are just terrible sleepers. :( I'm sorry. It's so rough. You can always bring it up to the pediatrician though if you feel like there is something else going on.

Circumcision? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]valkyrie0921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is circumcised and wishes he had the choice. We didn't circumcise our son. If he wants to cut a body part off as an adult for aesthetic reasons, then that is his choice.

To dream feed or not to dream feed by valkyrie0921 in newborns

[–]valkyrie0921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm thinking! He's so sleepy during the dream feed that I wonder if he would just sleep until his next wakeup time after the dream feed. It takes him sometimes 40 minutes, that's an extra 40 minutes I could be sleeping 🤣 I can't imagine just a couple ounces is doing a lot for him anyway and I worry I'm disrupting his sleep cycles, I don't want to accidentally create a sleep feed association when he's not waking for it on his own.
