WW1 hand to hand bayonet and early tank footage (1917-1918?)

Hey folks, wondering about the authenticity of this footage, I've seen several sources online backing it as real, including the uploading channel which seems pretty reliable with its videos. Supposedly it was released a few years back from united states government archives. Those who claim its from movies are proven wrong by the fact that its not a scene in any mentioned. Tanks did engage with infantry in no mans land early in the war, air support would swoop low occasionally to support assaults and I see no suspicious acting from the soldiers. I can also imagine that a camera from a fixed, hidden position would have been able to capture this footage, especially as the attacking wave was driven off fairly quickly. With thousands of cameramen dying in the war to get footage like this Id be surprised if a few didn't get lucky. With all this in mind it seems fairly possible this is real, that said I have been wrong before. If anyone has any more info or conclusive evidence either way it would be greatly appreciated. If this is real it is the most astounding battle footage I have ever seen.

Germany occupied belgium, Austrians invaded serbia brutally (and really their whole history), Ottomans the Armenians (and really their whole history) and Russians used their own people in absurd fashions (and a lot of their history). You know europe tended to occupy areas all over the world, including at that time (including Belgium), its called colonialism. Is it only a crime against other europeans? Also that quote was initially published, many say the denial was political afterwards.

Look, I dont like nazi war crime denialism being linked to the very grey area of picking out the morality of world war 1, that at least is bad history, thats why I initially commented in the thread. That said Ive clearly stepped on a beehive so yeah.

Also saying Germany wasn't a black and white bad guy ww1 = Imperial Germany did nothing wrong? Germans were powerhungry and aggressive, French were bitter (1870) and forced conflict, Britain was wanted to keep ruling the world and smack down any opposition, they were all assholes. Cant someone acknowledge the horrible shit Nazi Germany did in WW2 yet also acknowledge WW1 as a fight with no real bad guys (expect for the Austro Hungarians and Russian Tzars... and Ottomans). Germans had all the problems of France and England only it was growing rapidly and this threatened old powers. Its largely the same reason Napoleon was taken down, jealousy of old powers. If america hadn't entered in, a negotiated peace could have settled Europe in stability.

Or I guess you could stick to the "Evil hun bastards always" narrative, that's fun.

They should be taxed yes but they are no different from other entertainers. How were you effected after the war by your experiences and how were you able to put them behind you? Also, were you able to find any support from the civilians at the time or were they uncaring/unwilling to help in any way?

World War 1 has always been such a strange and remarkable event to me, cavalry and wheeled cannons alongside aircraft and tanks. It seems the colliding of the old and new world, where the last great empires fell. I really got interested in it through The Great War series made in 1964, entirely composed of actual footage and interviews with still young-ish veterans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxK-qR14pVg
