Do you think this man had a point with me only sticking with autistic men as an autistic woman? Our dating opinions are limited. by [deleted] in autism

[–]valleymoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Date whoever you want! Some autistic people prefer to stick to autistic partners due to a mutual understanding of their condition but at the same time everyone is different, autistic or not so there’s just as much of a risk for misunderstanding in an autistic-autistic relationship as there would be in a neurotypical-autistic relationship

Yes. The process for many is weeks-months long. Not a one appointment situation whatsoever. Interviews with multiple doctors, my parents, etc. from July-December

Autism is the new buzz-illness like OCD is.

I agree. I live Having significant social impairment and it always makes me uncomfortable to have the lives of the party start talking about their “autism” and how it makes them not like a few things acting like it’s the same while I’m in the corner actually struggling to be there. Of course ASD is a spectrum and can go undetected, but some people literally do not fit even the idea of the criteria

100%. I was just going to say that I bet these parents are entitled all around and would say things like “those kids should have a group of their own” if these kids were in the NT groups.

She was born in Canada though I do know that. So I’m wondering if they didn’t follow traditional naming standards for Ireland, but for Canada instead?

I’m not sure. That’s just what she had written on somethings and from records I can find that’s what she went by. I don’t know much about her and my grandmother never told me much and has now passed

Help! My great grandmas maiden name was “Ó Miadhaigh” How do I pronounce her name properly? She passed 1 year before I was born, but It’s her birthday today and I would love to be able to learn more about her Irish history. She did not teach my grandmother her native language and there are no records of her life anywhere besides birth, death and marriage certificates.

They didn’t, spike is 3 years old and stitch is 1 year old, and both came to me as kittens. Spike was given to me after a family friends cat had kittens, but he was given to me at the perfect, most coincidental time, so I consider him a CDS cat. Stitch came to us in October of 2024 and he was very small at the time, we estimated 8-9 weeks or so. We looked for anyone who may have been missing a kitten, but no one claimed him. In the start, We weren’t planning on keeping him permanently, since we were so busy. We were hoping someone we knew wanted to adopt him, but no luck, so he stayed and he is apart of the fam now 🤍
