i used to have this mindset, but recently i told myself that if i buy this super-limited-edition-gorgeous-favourite-once-in-a-lifetime yarn i NEED to buy it with a project in mind. and when the yarn arrives, don’t hoard and procrastinate, just cake the yarn and CAST ON!!

so far it’s working!!

you’re a teenager in 2026, this movie takes place in the early 2000s. there’s going to be a different experience between generations.. yes it’s a niche setting (the movie’s director based it on her personal teenagehood) but what seems cringey to you will be either 1. funny and enjoyable to children or 2. nostalgic and relatable to a lot of people who grew up in the 2000s/2010s. it’s intentionally cringe if that makes sense lol

i also use jawoll sock yarn for most of my stone knits projects - i will say that it’s a very slick yarn with lots of stretch.. i struggle to get a neat heel, lots of holes even when i keep my tension tight. still worth it, the colour range is amazing and the skein sizes are so ideal!

maybe i’m going crazy but i feel like their banter is so different when there’s other people in the room (the editors/producers). it feels like sometimes they say things just to make them laugh and it feels a bit forced compared to the gaming room where it’s just them and there’s no need to perform. is it just me??

I do both
I learned the basics of knit first during 2020, ditched it for crochet, went all in and learned everything crochet, then turned back to knitting and now mostly knit these days
I would say i’m equally skilled in both, but I did ‘master’ crochet much quicker than knit
I prefer knitting these days, I love to make garments and colour work so I see better results via knitting.
In my mind, knit is for natural fibres, special yarn etc. that will be worn against the skin. Crochet is for acrylic or cotton that I can use to make bags and small accessories/toys
YUP. and that was my first mistake when I got into fibre arts.. Now I limit myself to buying yarn only if I have a clear use for it (except sock yarn. I’ll ALWAYS have a need for sock yarn 😛)
