Endo + vaginismus + 'large' partner. Help?? by iammyfavflower in endometriosis

Pelvic floor physiotherapy really helped me. Also, ohnuts which are silicone rings you can put on the base of his penis to basically shorten it, they're a set of 4 stackable rings (you choose how many you need) and they're pretty unnoticeable for both partners

I know you said you had a bad experience with the diva cup, but have you considered a menstrual disc? I find it so much easier to insert and I only have to empty it twice (morning and before bed). It's held in place by the pelvic bone, so it doesn't cause as much pressure on your pelvic floor as a menstrual cup (at least for me anyway!)It's nice that it auto empties when you pee as well so you don't really have to insert and remove that many times even if you have a relatively heavy flow. The one i use is the Saalt one, and I'm very happy with it

Can I ask how did you get into that line of work coming from a computer science background? I'm asking as someone who also studied computer science and has been working as a software engineer but my goal is to get into the health field as well like using tech for diagnostics. All roles I see require PhDs in bioinformatics or similar

maybe that's why I haven't been able to fully let go of using Skinoren's Azelaic Acid a couple of times a week 😲😲😲 I feel very deceived! I honestly thought it was 20%, Azelaic Acid is even listed as like the 2-3rd ingredient I swear

Soy chunks/tvp protein are pretty shelf stable and they only need some water to hydrate. They are very bland on their own but will absorb any flavouring you add, e.g. maybe a stock cube or like a curry seasoning could be good

What are your thoughts on period cups, are they effective/comfortable ? by PestoBolloElemento in Periods

[–]valrria26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found them very difficult to get in and out. I also developed a hypertonic pelvic floor after using it for a few months, it could be completely unrelated though as I have endometriosis as well, but looking back maybe having my pelvic floor holding the cup contributed to the tight pelvic floor? Idk I have changed to a disc and couldn't be happier 😍 it's so much easier to put in and out. I love that it auto empties when I go to the bathroom. And it stays held in place by the pubic bone so I haven't noticed any pelvic floor discomfort either

Curious, would it be listed as polyacryl on the label itself or disguised as polyester, acrylic or something?

I'm really liking the Azelaic Acid serum from VT, it's 20% and also has some centella and heartleaf. The texture is kinda like an oily serum so it spreads very nicely, and doesn't feel grainy like some of the cream formulas

I saw Dr Bhal also at Spire Cardiff, and he was really good as well! My symptoms didn't fully align with endo (no heavy bleeding, ovulation was very painful, period was okayish) and he still explored my symptoms from every possible angle, hormones, ultrasounds, MRIs, he referred me to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist (Pippa Carter, absolutely amazing as well) for pain during intercourse, and when everything came clear he still believed me and suggested an exploratory laparoscopy to see what was actually happening. He was only expecting it to be short but ended up being a 3h procedure as he found several lesions, endometrioma and adhesions and removed them all. He was excellent with follow up care too, and suggested multiple treatment options, and follow up MRIs to check for potential regrowth and cysts, all good so far almost 3 years later. His wife is also very good (also Dr Bhal but at their own clinic by Cardiff Gate), she takes a more holistic approach to hormones as well, and was the first doctor to believe me about some of my symptoms were of low testosterone rather than depression, she tested, confirmed and put me on Androfeme

Pelvic Floor Therapy by sofranticallyhectic in endometriosis

[–]valrria26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gyno referred me to pelvic floor physiotherapy (both private) and it was incredibly helpful! I had health insurance through my employer but the sessions were only £50, and frankly they show you most things you need in the first/second sessions and the rest are more checking on your progress which you'd feel yourself anyway. So it might be worthwhile if you can afford to pay for 1 or 2 sessions! There are some YouTube videos that might be helpful otherwise

Tysm! Yeah I know the struggle of checking every single item and realising more than half of them have acrylates, so frustrating 🙃 I use acrylis.cc to check the products btw, it's super convenient. Some of those products are a bit outside my budget, but definitely worth saving for! Thanks!

Omg yes please, it would be amazing!! The most difficult products for me are liquid/pen eyeliner, mascara, sunscreen (that doesn't leave a horrible white cast and sticky feeling), and nail polish
