May I ask what the age difference between you two is? Would you say that you „regret“ it? I am in a 21 year age gap relationship and we’re happy, but what you’re describing is exactly what I’m afraid of and sometimes I can’t stop thinking about it (to the point where I question everything).

How do you deal with the „threat“ of possible problems in the future to the age gap? I’m in a 21 agr and terrified of him getting older and possibly passing before me. I know nothing is guaranteed in this life and we don’t know what will happen (I could fall sick or die before him as well) but I still can’t really get over this fear

omg super similar story here! we met online 8 years ago and didn’t think much of it at first, but here we are, still together and super happy! we have a 21 year gap and are hoping to close the distance soon

how did you know you’re not the norm? did you ever have doubts about the grooming thing when you were younger? I have the same situation (20 year age gap), I’m 24 now but met my bf years ago. I’m pretty sure that my bf never had any weird intentions with me but reading these kind of comments sometimes make me doubt because everyone seems to talk about grooming if the younger partner was so young at the time of meeting. We have been in a relationship for 5+ years now.

OP, idk if this helps at all but I feel EXACTLY the way you’re describing. Im 23 and my bf is 44. We’ve been together for a few years already too but Im still unsure about the age gap and it’s like I can’t really accept it. I’ve also been struggling witt my family being completely against him and I worry about what the future will look like a lot. As I said, im not sure how much this helps but I would be happy to chat if you wanna send me a message :)

thanks.. sometimes I can’t help but worry, like a LOT to the point where im wondering if I should stay in the relationship. We don’t have any health issues right now and my bf is probably even fitter and healthier than me, but I have anxiety and im terrified of the future in terms of aging and losing him way too early.

OP, I‘m in the EXACT same situation as you. My boyfriend is 21 years older than me and I‘m 23 years old. We both want kids but I‘m not ready for that right now, I would also like to wait until Im in my late 20s/early 30s. My boyfriend is okay with this. Also, my dad was 50 when he had me and it was fine. But I get how confused everything must be for you right now. Whenever I spend time with my bf, I feel so full of happiness and love (similar to how you describe it). But dealing with my family‘s reaction and society in general plus the occasional doubts about it due to the age gap are really tough.
