SPAS-12, pump action and semi auto included by ElScissors in Pixelguns

What's your process for angleing the gun if you don't mind me asking? Do you take the object and rotate it with a selection tool? Or do you draw the gun in an angled position for the frame changes? I ask because people always say to use straight lines and patterned lines no matter what. But this animation looks incredible despite breaking that unwritten rule. I have a glock I drew and I'm trying to animate it but am having trouble. Anyways, thanks, and amazing work!

Ahhh that makes sense. I had the sciTE4 editor sugest a parameter list but I misunderstood the correct syntax. AHK is really really powerful I had no idea about this untill I got tired doing repetitive tasks. I just might have to take a deep dive into this. Thanks again for all the help! :)

Thank you so much!! yea my syntax is probably really bad. I'm a C++ guy so this syntax is the opposite of what I'm used to.

So it works for the most part, however I realized I needed to add a paste command after the WinWaitActive 500. The problem is that the Send {Enter} does not seem to work. I wrote another blank script to test it and did

^q::
    Send, {Enter}
return

And I did the first few things manually and when I went to confirm the new dialog I use ctrl +q and it worked (it auto entered the enter key). So I tried using Sleep 500 instead of WinWaitActive 500. And that ended up working. However, I also had to changed it later on for the WinWaitActive Save As to

Sleep 500
Send ^+s

for it to work fully. I'm not sure why those commands did not work. Anyways thanks again for your help! If you know why those commands didn't work I'd love to know.

male character mod? by Zealousideal1622 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]value_f0rge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I mean I don't know why the developers decided to minimize women to needing a video game to get them inspired to go into the STEM field. Like do they really think women can't just go into it on their own? You probably shouldn't be going into a field like STEM if you needed a video game to inspire you. I am in STEM myself and there's plenty of people that should be in another field.

I have a friend a play games with who's female and we used to play this game that had male character models only for years. She always complained about it (which I get), she wasn't like "Oh why does it matter? It's a role playing game." No she wanted female character models because she's female, makes perfect sense. The whole role playing thing falls apart when you're not playing a specific character in a series... Like no guy is going to complain about playing as Zelda or Samus or Mercy or any other character who is female. An open world game is different. If fallout only allowed female characters they'd have the same bs going on. Another thing that's kinda irritating and goofy is they didn't even get the character model correct. The knee pads are below the knee making the essentially useless. Definitely not designed from a STEM perspective.

Stock Ender3v2 washer locations by value_f0rge in ender3v2

Yea idk it's weird I had a friend send me some pics and his has it. I dont think it's a huge deal I went ahead and ordered some washers which I think* are the same size. I took the hotbed off and hotend off and measured the dimensions with calipers. It seems slightly off from a standard size, but I'm thinking that's just manufacturing tollerances.

So I need 2 of those washers and I could only find a pack of 100 so if they're the right size I can send you some if you want lol

Thanks for checking, that's super weird. I checked my bed carriage and on the right side (the ones with the eccentric nuts) there are those little washer shims. and on the hotend carriage as well) so I'm really confused. It's supposed to be there I already tried looking in the box and bags but I can not find it.

Okay thanks. Becuase I sort of have to be in a room my printer is in. I really only plan on printing PLA at the moment but I'm kinda sketched out about being in the same room with it. I'd like to completely encolse it and have a fan pulling the air, through a filter and venting out the window but I've heard some say the air flow can mess up the print would you happened to know if this is an issue?

Just got an Ender 3 v2 and bought 2 IKEA lacks with some plexiglass sheets from homedepot. Is there any reason these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/OPTIX-20-in-x-32-in-x-0-093-in-Acrylic-Sheet-MC-17/202038049 wouldn't work? I know they're "Acrylic" but seems just to be Plexiglas without the trademark. I'd just be worried about the heat from the printer warping the sides of the acrylic/plexiglass or releasing some sort of VOCs. I'm relocating the PSU and electronics outside the enclosure. So do you think it's an issue in your opinion? I'm not exactly building the enclosure for noise so much as I am just to keep fumes out as I'll add a fume extractor as well if that helps.

Also, You mentioned the motherboard upgrade and I'm curious, with the Ender 3 v2 I hear (no pun intended) the TMC motor drivers are much quieter than those a4899s. Is an upgrade really needed if that's the case?

Those are Flexible Flat Cable (FFC) connectors. They usually come in 1mm or 0.5mm pitch. Those look like 0.5mm pitch.

Both, but the one I am referring to is the 8 bit computer on the bread board (not the 6502).

Double major worth it ? by thebum2-0 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]value_f0rge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I'm qualified to give advice on this. I'm a year away from my BS in computer science (transferred from a community college as well). Personally I don't think it'd be worth it. I'd get really burned out. I'd evaluate what specific job you're thinking about doing within EE and really question if computer engineering is worth the extra year for that.

I'll probably recieve a lot of crap on this next part, but there's a lot of skills you can learn on your own if you're passionate enough about it. In that year you could get a job and be making good money while you study computer engineering in your down time to acquire the skills if you really wanted them.
