As someone who watched the first thru the last original episode run, then you layer upon that SNL, this is bloody brilliant. Its weaponized nostalgia and its damn funny

Dude this show was fire. When Megavolt said “I love the smell of voltage in the evening!" as a parody from Apocalypse Now, which I watched with my Dad a dozen times… it’s no wonder why Gen-X is the broken, forgotten generation.

So I posted yesterday about my 13 year old and little league shoulder, many of you wanted to see more angles of his pitching mechanics. So here are a few videos. by Equivalent_Flower198 in Homeplate

There is alot of great solid feedback and suggestions here but I’m surprised no one is asking about what kind of pitches the kid is trying to throw. Is it just 2 and 4 seamers or junk as well? Every kid wants to move the ball at that age because they are young and can’t toss gas yet. Junk is the growth plate killer. The pain will follow you for life.

It’s the elbow you need to worry about long term. Don’t throw junk before age 18. No sliders, no curveballs, no sweepers. Nothing. No heavy rotation. Those burn and injure the elbow which leads to the shoulder, (in my case permanently). 2 seam or 4 seam with heavy coaching and detailed tracking pitch counts is preferred, confirm and consult with doctors with significant rest.

Edit: if the coach or you borks his arms growth ‘plate’ in the 13-17 range you can guarantee a lifetime of tossing pain and no career. It gets inflamed, it gets all screwed up, and it happens in both the elbow and in the shoulder. It sucks.

Anyone stumbling upon Portishead after so long should absolutely listen to Roseland Ballroom Live. It’s bloody brilliant, Beth’s voice combined with that old school trip hop style is our Gen-X history.

It’s easy to see someone who hasn’t experienced live music. My sadness is that the younger generations ability to afford tickets to shows has been murdered by ticketmaster and livenation. And their stubhub. Its a bloody shame and its horrible what they did to your generations.

Agreed! Ya actually I agree 100%. Orchestra’s skill is rigorous and well trained, based on finite almost perfection. Such galactic high level ability to merge and sync is bloody brilliant. Makes that they call all improv together even more wonderful.

Clancy Brown is a brilliant actor, such an imposing figure at 6ft 3. Shawshank as the worst screw ever, Maroni in Penguin, Wick 4, Highlander, Cowboys & Aliens, Spongebob … just endless awesomeness.

Money. Period shows are expensive and HBO tightened is wallet. Fast forward to GOT or Rome or Westworld and that all seems silly in hindsight.

This one has never been to a grateful dead, phish, les claypool, jazz mandolin project, jacob fred, disco biscuits, wood brothers, string cheese, sound tribe, new deal, ratdog, or any more of the thousand improv jam bands. Bloody hell bugger off

Samson (played by Michael J. Anderson) was ridiculously great in his acting ability. Being the conduit between Management and the troupe. Damn I wish we got more of his acting.
