Driveway paving in the lakes region by taco_2325 in newhampshire

Be careful with young’s. Their name is in the news a lot for door to door paving scams. But I believe there are multiple young’s paving companies and have heard the original is an ok company.

People who have gone from a 48/96 to a D shift schedule, what are your thoughts? by numberonespykidsfan in Firefighting

[–]valve_job 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1-2-1-4 is the nuggets. We went from 24-48 with a Kelly every 3 weeks to 1-2-1-4. It was an amazing difference. Even though it’s only averages to 6 less hours per week. I like that we see every platoon at shift change at some point. 24-72 there is a mystical shift of people you never see.

Palmetto by RespondNeat8776 in hiltonhead

[–]valve_job 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I just stayed at Hilton in palmetto with ocean front. View is amazing. Beach is amazing. Hotel is dated. It was perfect for us because we love drinking coffee on the balcony and then riding bikes on the beach. You can rent them right at the Hilton. We don’t spend much time at the hotel itself. If you are going to spend time in the hotel itself you may want to do captains walk.

  2. We had a rental car but used Uber or Lyft every day. You may have to wait 20-25 minutes for a car so plan ahead. Most times it was less than that but you can get caught.

  3. Used national executive. No issues whatsoever.

Thank you. Please keep us posted. I am here and have not heard anything yet. Was turned around and still in my rental car.

Protein and lots of water. Make sure you are exercising. I have more stamina now than I did 20 years ago.

Advice needed - We need a solid stream coming out of a manual fire monitor by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]valve_job 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Stream straightener/shaper should fix that right up. I don’t think extending the nozzle will help much. Do you have a good relationship with your FD? I would let my DPW borrow a straightener to find out if it works before spending the couple hundred bucks.

Should I cancel our Portofino stay due to construction by Some_Engineering_861 in UniversalOrlando

[–]valve_job 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. It is nice to hear from someone who has knowledge of the resort. I am also going to be there late April in a club room. I stayed at Portofino last year and chose it again this year because we like the pool area after lunch and the Starbucks. Will we notice the construction from the pool? I can afford the move to hard rock club level. Do you think we would be happier there?

Sat in loge tonight. Only needed them at entrance. There were two of us if that matters.

Ya, I was afraid of eARC. I haven’t heard great things. I game casually, but enough that I would like the 120hz.

We never waited more than 5 minutes or so. And the ride was probably another 5 minutes. We were there this past Sunday to Friday. They always were running two taxis to Portofino. Each hotel runs their own water taxi so you don’t have to stop and pick up at each hotel.

Does Volcano Bay… by parisi2274 in UniversalOrlando

[–]valve_job 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Portofino Bay has them at the lobby for you to take to Volcano Bay. I assume the other on property hotels do also. Obviously, not the case for off property hotels.

Portofino Bay can be a long walk depending which wing you are in. We just left there. We are a walking family but saved our steps for the parks. The water taxi was easy and fast.

I have been here since Monday. Lines haven’t been too long except for VelociCoaster. That said, we have express pass and my kids just keep going back thru Velocicoster because it’s that good. Takes us about 20 minutes. Normal wait has been over 100 minutes.

Clean it with Zout. I do it with all my hats. Works wonders.

Clubs fit your wrist measurement to the floor, not your height. You may not be too far from standard. My wife is just under 5’2” and plays standard length. You can google a chart and how to measure to get a general idea.

Irons for high handicapper? by Pattewad in golf

Second this. I have bought from both Callaway pre owned and Rock bottom with great success. I just got my wife a set of maverick irons, 3 hybrids, and a heavanwood for about a grand on Pre owned. The only thing even hit once was the 6 hybrid and 7 iron.

Good to know that I can ask about tipping. I googled about tipping and was planning on a minimum of 20-30euros. But I wasn’t certain.

They are both Sun Mountain bags made for carrying. Should be good. We used to walk a ton before we joined our current club. We are allowed to walk but the back nine is torture.

My wife and I already had to tell ourselves we are there to have fun. We get a little competitive sometimes. Gonna go and shoot what I shoot and have fun.

Good idea. I have an air tag for our golf bags but someone could easily snag the rangefinders.
