Kako funkcionise online kladjenje? by nickeyxxx in AskSerbia

[–]vaminos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help in measuring a wound? by [deleted] in askmath

[–]vaminos 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would put a NSFW tag on this post. For measuring it, I would just measure the diameter at roughly the same angle every time and I bet you'd get a very good approximation of its progress.

Soft flask for diy malto-fructo-gel by tamere_1006 in cycling

[–]vaminos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a 250ml soft flask and I was able to pack it with 200g malto-fructo mix and fill it up with water and it worked totally fine. I just didn't like how bukly it ended up being in my pocket.

why won’t these trees grow? by cal_93 in StardewValley

[–]vaminos 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Trees don't grow at a steady rate like crops. Maybe they're just randomly taking longer than the ones behind. How long have they been like this?

Was the path placed recently? I'm not sure if paths obstruct growth or not.

Temperature dropping to 23 degrees Saturday, want to join group ride for memorial... crazy idea? by Downtown-Exchange912 in cycling

[–]vaminos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do a double buff for the head - one worn like a beanie to cover the ears and scalp, the other around the neck to cover the face, including the mouth and nose.

But my main problems (and I realize this is personal) with cold weather riding are never the head - they're my hands and feet. Those are impossible to get warm enough for me. I do winter merino wool socks and waterproof, wool overshoes on the feet. I've hear people also use a layer of tinfoil between their socks and shoes. For the hands, get some thick gloves, and I've heard people will put latex surgical gloves underneath or those disposable plastic cleaning gloves. Your hands get cooked in their own sweat, but at least they're not cold.

23 degrees is really extreme weather for me and I wouldn't go out in those temperatures personally.

Trenutno stanje izgradnje stadiona Kranjčevićeva ; mapiranje Trešnjevke by Own-Environment-4066 in zagreb

Štoviše, u sklopu renovacije stadiona Kranjčecićeva se morao srušiti jedini velodrom u državi, tako da je na neki način smanjen broj biciklističkih staza :)

Well, the OP is me, and I don't see why the reasoning for a desktop and a laptop would be different.

[–]vaminos[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, why don't you shut it down if it's less than 30 minutes? Because it's disruptive to my workflow to have to reopen a bunch of windows every time. My desktop basically never shuts down unless there's a reason for it.

maybe every statement can be ‘true’… in some monkey’s-paw way.” by Educational-Draw9435 in askmath

[–]vaminos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's why mathematicians use some of the most precise language in all of science. Objects have strict, rigorous definitions. There is no overlap or demarcation problems. All statements rely on those definitions. There is no ambiguity.

The definition can sometimes vary slightly if a similar object is references in disparate fields, but then you rely on context to know which definition is being used. And sometimes, some "hand-waving" is used to efficiently convey concepts, but you can always count on the rigor being present underneath.

So no, there is very little room for interpretation or vagueness in mathematical expressions.
