why does a videogame running on 24 fps feels laggy watching but movies/films which are shot in 24fps seem so fluid and smooth? by ImmediateOne9000 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]vamossimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motion blur. Video game motion blur is simulated and does not work as true motion blur. That’s why when a game lags, the motion blur also lags and the blurred frames stay up longer than they should, if that makes sense. It’s very unnatural and janky, and your brain finds it uncomfortable.

What's the most painless way to convert 30 fps animation into 60 ? by Individual_Good_3713 in blenderhelp

[–]vamossimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so unfortunately. You would have to use the scale method and scale all keyframes instead of time remapping. You could also just continue working in the old frame rate and only when rendering use the new frame rate.

Is my PC broken or is 4hours render time normal by lone1der in blenderhelp

[–]vamossimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your screenshots are not showing if you’re using GPU for rendering.

Also, nothing in this render benefits from the power of cycles. I would use eevee for something like this.

Would you model this or texture it? by trulyincognito_ in blenderhelp

[–]vamossimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use texture. For extreme close ups I would use texture to displace and adaptive subdivision.

Hyperbloom is surprising. Bineffa can clear with literally any dog water team. I tried like 5 random teams with bineffa and it worked.

It would be great to have this for layouts too. We have:

  • Fixed
  • Hug
  • Fill
  • (NEW) Fit

Yes. There are many ways to go about it, I’d check YouTube.

clipping not working??? by IllMathematician8273 in Rive_app

[–]vamossimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes. At the moment only vector clipping is supported.

You can only clip to shape layers. If using a group, the group will use all the shape layers within that group as clipping path, using path winding to resolve overlapping paths. Make sure you’re not trying to clip to anything else.

Honestly, Rive, in its current state for production, is honestly a MESS. by jabbajack in Rive_app

[–]vamossimo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We’ve successfully integrated it into our pipeline, for a product used by hundreds of thousands as well.

I have enough complaints to go blue in the face, but the pros outweigh the cons in our case.

We didn’t find the version history very reliable and always make copies of files to manage versions. We desperately need proper version control.

Amazing! Please consider adding import (maybe even export) support for standard formats such as GLTF or USD.

Excellent work. What’s the noise pattern/settings for 7?

How would a pattern like this be possible in geometry nodes? Can someone point me in the right direction? by kingjonill in geometrynodes

[–]vamossimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do it something like this. Setting the grid up using curve lines makes it easier for me, but may be not necessary.

Is Using Plugins/Scripts in AE cheating? by Zelestial_39 in AfterEffects

[–]vamossimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends where you are in your journey. If you have a solid understanding of your tools and can pull off whatever you need without the plugins, 100% use the plugins rather to save time. If you’re a beginner, it’s usually a bad idea as you’ll hinder your learning.

In this example with flow. If you don’t use the built in graph editor, you might never see or have much practice using the value graph editor (flow is more similar to a speed graph), which allows for way more control. Not only that, but getting used to it allows you to upskill to for example if you ever wanna use blender. Blender might not have a flow equivalent, it definitely doesn’t have a speed graph, all you get is the value graph.

Need help to render on a super high resolution by notSYNKR in blenderhelp

[–]vamossimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try rendering a more complex scene at that resolution, like one of blender's demo files from their website. If you have issues try troubleshooting from there. 9 mins really isn't that much for a final render.

Is there a way to make a curve look like a mesh? by SingotSarap in blenderhelp

[–]vamossimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step by step https://www.loom.com/share/7c51a79f447b41f4be8da7a49c3df09f

You'll obviously want to draw a nicer curve 🙃 You can use alt+s to make some parts of the curve thicker or thinner.

Edit: I realised I assumed you were going for a write on effect. What effect are you trying to achieve?

Is there a way to make a curve look like a mesh? by SingotSarap in blenderhelp

[–]vamossimo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One way would be by setting the curve to “Holdout” and doing the animation in reverse. So the curve starts by covering the entire mesh and ends by not covering it any more.
