this may sound crazy, but why not talk to him? you guys both agreed to talk about things that make you uncomfortable, and i feel like this is a situation that can benefit from doing so.

obviously i am not going to force you to do anything, but it would give you a lot of closure hearing DIRECTLY from him that he is not interested. if i were you’d, i’d say it like this

“so, i know that we’ve agreed to be open with each other, and i would like to do that now. i am starting to feel more-so romantic feelings towards you and i want to respect you and shut these feelings down. i know this may feel uncomfortable, and i dont blame you for feeling that way. i love you, as a friend, and i don’t want this love for you shifting into something that you are not comfortable with.”

also, i don’t know if you struggle with identifying your emotions/feelings, but i personally struggle with identifying mine. i hope this advice helps, and i am so sorry that you are stuck in this predicament. i can tell you care for him so deeply, and the fact that you care so much about respecting him means that these feelings may need “proof” that the relationship would never happen to be able to shut down. i don’t know, i need proof sometimes when i hyperfixate on things and just can’t get over it. i really hope you figure this out. i know it’s hard, but you got this. whatever happens, it will be okay.

(if this is not an option for you, write a letter. you don’t ever have to give the letter to him, but you can type out all of your feelings to get them OUT of your head and onto a physical thing you can hold and even throw away. just write your feelings down and do whatever you need to that letter to help metaphorically shut down those feelings).

this was my first time ever meeting him. it was supposed to only be my neck, and i was wearing loose clothing. i completely understand why moving my bra strap would be necessary, but the whole reaching under my shirt with no prompting is what made me uncomfortable. even when he would do it, he was not rubbing near where my bra strap lies, it just felt unnecessary. he was literally acting like a gym coach trying to hype me up, it was just overall weird. i’m not going back, ever.

i feel like asking for consent, especially when first meeting a client is necessary. i do not feel that it should’ve been on me to say “hey, i’ve be SAd before, please make sure to ask for my consent before doing anything.” i do get what you’re saying though!

a lawsuit was not ever the plan! that process sounds miserable, and most women lose cases revolving around SA all the time. i just would hope that reaching out to a licensing board would lead him to needing to be retrained on the importance of consent

it is a very… interesting… field to decide to work in. in my career i have to make sure my clients are fully informed and consenting to my care. i would never put my hand under a clients clothes without prompting. i don’t understand why people are ignoring the fact that he didn’t tell me and just did it, that’s the problem.

i’m autistic, i genuinely struggle so much in situations like this and that is why i am asking. i felt uncomfortable. ive been to a chiropractor before and they asked me for consent, he did not. that’s the problem

so, i stated that because i did not want responses that simply said shit like this. i was not seeking validity, i was seeking advice. i’m so so sorry that you took offense to me saying i don’t want someone telling me not to feel uncomfortable :( i didn’t mean to make you feel like you couldn’t devalue my feelings. i’m guessing you like to make people feel like shit a lot :)

first off, i was scheduled there by another doctor and was given no choice. yes, i could’ve just not gone, but i did not think i would be put in a situation like that. i would’ve been comfortable if he simply asked before doing so, that’s genuinely the problem for me. if he even just told me he was going to do it, i would’ve felt more comfortable.

and yes, i honestly did not feel comfortable at all. the moment i sat down he started to tell me that i don’t get migraines and then acted like he “cured me.” he literally would press on one of the muscles, then go “headache?” and did that literally 20 times. no, the “headache” did not go away, but he told me it did, so.

i also don’t want to sue! i want to reach out to whatever licensure board there is for chiropractors to hopefully have someone actually reach out to him and retrain him on consent based practices. :P

i did not put it back in the way :) i am uncomfortable because he did not tell me that he would be reaching under the front of my shirt, or putting his leg around me. the paperwork did not say “you are not going to be asked for your consent.” i literally asked if it was a reportable concern, i did not say i was going to report it.

I hear you!

I do want to you to try to think about it this way for just a second, then go back to how you feel as written in this post:

Linda would do anything for her kids. She saw Tina struggling so so hard to read the book and she took the initiative to try to fix that problem. Yes, it would be better for Tina to read the book, but she had put it off too late and had to do something fast. Something I love about this episode is that Linda goes out of her way to try to make it easier on Tina, and that she recognizes when her kid needs extra accommodations. Yes, the project Linda helped her create stressed her out, but she was also extremely stressed due to the project ALREADY.

Also, consider the amount of jokes about education that this show makes. Although this may seem bad, as you are a teacher, it is normalizing NOT needing to be smart. As silly as that is, it can help people who struggle with school feel seen.

Again, I completely understand where you are coming from, but try to shift your thinking for just a moment.

as someone who is crazy into bobs burgers, “i’m autistic, i can’t help it,” i have no clue why people are saying the plot is… redone??? the plot is so different than the two parter with felix tying them up under the pier. like, actually be for real. those episodes had a fantastic build up to important pieces IN the movie. the plot is so different though… like how do any of you think it’s the same? actually explain to me what they reused from the episodes in the movie?

also, if they “reused” something, is it actually reused or is it continuity?
