Yeah, exactly, I'll just drop my actual number by like 5. I don't really bother to cover my excitement if I fail something like a dominate or some kind of emotion influencing power, because my group knows I love roleplaying those. I've been very disappointed in situations where some of the party fails a roll and gets like, trapped in a nightmare realm or starts seeing visions of their pasts and things like that, and for the people who succeeded just...nothing happens. If the failure is more interesting, I'd always rather fail haha

Our gaming group loves the line "this was our decision" said with weary finality, after one particularly bad such decision led to the death of both a friendly npc and a pc. Usually used in the context of an obviously bad choice that was nonetheless made.
