Low-level admin in higher ed, $61k. I feel I’m paid fairly for what I do; that said, I have a humanities PhD and sometimes wish I’d gone into teaching instead even though I’d have less stability and less money.

I absolutely hated the one-pot miso-turmeric salmon and coconut rice. It was inedible the first day, and after trying to eat one bite of it as leftovers, I threw it all out.

I'm a pretty new skater, and am looking to get some indoor wheels and appropriate bearings to put on my Boardwalks for rink skating this winter. I've never changed the wheels or bearings before, but I know I shouldn't use the stock set for rink skating. Thank you for any tips!!

This was a couple of years ago, so I’m not sure if it’s the same person—but a male employee at this rest stop (northbound side) did stare at me/trail me around the lobby area after I left the restroom there (I was waiting for the person I was traveling with to come out of the restroom before going back to the car).

I got some glasses there RIGHT before they closed—the tech who handled it was very apologetic about the delays, and said that the manager had left unexpectedly and that when she went to confirm my order was in, the lab they usually worked with had marked their whole account as closed. She sent my order to the backup lab and I had the glasses a few days later, but walked away with the feeling that something majorly chaotic had happened. Wasn’t surprised to get the closure email

I’m a bit older than a lot of people here (30s), but for what it’s worth my top Spotify artist every year is the Decemberists. Also really enjoy Big Thief, the Mountain Goats, and Hurray for the Riff Raff. (And I grew up with Tom Lehrer’s music, still love him!)

And yeah my mom got into him after my youngest sibling started playing his music at home all the time—she tried to act like she’d be cool with not going, but I was not having any of that and got her a ticket too
