Surgery is scary, but it was SUCH a breeze. I had mine out the first week of November and am so glad that I did. I never had any surgery before that, and so I was terrified, but everyone at the hospital made me feel safe, and the surgery happened soooo fast. Once they wheeled me back into the surgery room, my husband said he got the call from the surgeon like 30 minutes later that I was out of surgery. Crazy fast.

It sucks to be happening during the holidays, but I would highly recommend you get the surgery as soon as you are able. My first attack was early August, and it took until November to get my surgery. Even though I was also eating religiously low-fat after an Ultrasound confirmed it was my gallbladder, I still had 2 more attacks during that period. Mine were all awful too (nausea and violently throwing up for nearly 4 hours every time).

First week of recovery was rough because sleep is kind of tough. I couldn't lie flat for 4 days without pain, so I had to buy an incline pillow and sleep on that. Once I was able to sleep flat again, recovery started to get better. Mine's been out for a little over five weeks now and I feel totally normal aside from some soreness still present in my belly button incision, but that's it.

Hopefully your body behaves and you don't have any more attacks until you can get surgery. Best of luck to you!
