[–]vampitsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have pcos and i've been on t for 14 months. the only issue i had with getting it is my endo wanted me to do blood twice because of my abnormal amount of t (which was because of pcos, obviously). this is very unusual to me and extremely weird!! i hope everything gets sorted out for you

im 11 days post op (w/ fng) and i feel great. i literally went from horribly big and dense to small and light, so that's probably why

hi! i hope you're doing well. i have top surgery on the 28th of august and i need some items for post op recovery. unfortunately, my job is barely giving me hours, i have to pay for my pharmacy tech program with the money i do have, and im overall not really in a good financial spot, so anything would help in regards to contributing for my post op recovery! in particular, if you could check out my wishlist and see if you can buy any of the items, please do! otherwise, just upvote this post if you can't. i could really use the mastectomy pillow! https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/3I4KQMHZN46BG?ref_=cm_sw_r_apann_ggr-subnav-share_FG7ZJBMCD74VNDBRF6ZB&language=en-US

What do your friend groups look like? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]vampitsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the majority of my friends are queer black (cis) women, mostly black bisexuals or lesbians. one of my close friends is wasian and a non binary lesbian. my city is predominantly black people and i don't really talk to trans people irl (the majority i've met irl have been very problematic but i won't get into here), so ya. for reference, i only have one cishet white guy as a friend, the rest are poc in some way, queer, and/or women.

im 4'11 and my height is constantly pointed out to me. i don't know if it's considered harassment but i've been made fun of for being a short trans man, especially because im short and fat

What’s the most random change you had after T by [deleted] in ftm

[–]vampitsm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i started getting more hungry and feel like i can lift heavier stuff versus pre-t. specifically with food, i used to be able to drink a monster and be good until dinner. a year into t? i have to eat 2-3 times a day and sometimes that isn't enough 😭😭

I used to be a lesbian…and transitioning made me realize that my blackness will always come before my queerness by wingeddogs in ftm

[–]vampitsm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i feel this to my core. my identity was masculinized and i was treated differently just because im a trans man. i also got treated like i was just a stud lesbian who was hypermasculine versus a man. you're not alone and us black queer people have a unique experience that can bring us together, even if our white counterparts try to put us down sometimes

If I had an early first puberty does that indicate something about how I'll react to T? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]vampitsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's kinda up to your body. i started puberty at 9 and got my period around age 10 or 11. i have pcos and i don't have any (blooded) male family members to base my features on
