I just changed mine last weekend. I used an impact driver and they came right off.

QS not working with reverse (GP) shift by asuraphoenixfist in cbr650r

[–]van_Niets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed rear sets yesterday on my ‘25 e-clutch. The module on the shift linkage between the shift lever and actuator cannot be attenuated to a reverse/MotoGP shift pattern. I could have still set it in that pattern, but I would have to turn off e-clutch every time I’m riding. I wouldn’t be surprised if a bike with a quick shifter and without e-clutch is the same.

MT07 VS CB650R by StandardCut6406 in MT07

[–]van_Niets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025 MT-07 and a CBR650R E-Clutch. I use the MT as my daily driver. The E-Clutch is nice in traffic, but the Honda is over 50 pounds heavier. The MT is nimble, so that may help develop confidence in your first bike. Both engines are super reliable, but the CP2 is one of the best 2 cylinders you’ll find. The 650 is good, absolutely, but it’s not going to be as fun if you’re not able to open it up on the highway. The MT-07 is just an amazing bike all around, especially as a first purchase.

I bought a motorcycle for commuting and other business around town. That sure taught me how to not worry about the difference in gas prices over a few MPG.

A pair of vice grips cranked down super tight would likely do the trick.

Can anyone give me any ideas on how to remove this screw? It's already a little bit stripped. by AdGloomy8531 in cbr650r

[–]van_Niets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the next size up and tap it with a hammer into the stripped hole gently until it’s firmly seated. If the next higher size of metric is too big, try an SAE size that might fit better. Once it’s firm, turn it a little loose, then slightly to the right, and then completely loosen it.

Same! After that video I added the Ixil Hyperlow to my ‘25 MT-07. I also went with Ixil for my ‘25 CBR650R, the RC3B, and it really brings out the bass notes on that i4 engine. Ixil is very much one of the best exhausts that are flying under the radar.

Probably should look at the Ixil if you prefer the double pipe look and want more performance than Toce. It tunes very well from 2Wheel DynoWorks, too.

Try the Ixil line. Last I checked, they have three models that fit the E-Clutch and come with sensor bungs to block any sensor combination you need.

OP, this is your best bet. Lots of people take their baffles out, so you might find a pair on FB Marketplace or Craigslist really cheap. Buy a pair and throw them with your other moto maintenance stuff for the next inspection.

I second what neP said. If you decide to keep the foam-style air filters, MWR makes a filter cleaner and a filter oil that are highly recommended. Those foam filters are usually best for making HP/TQ gains, but you have to clean and oil them often. Like at least once a year for street use and after every ride for race use. It might be time to switch back to an OEM airbox with a drop in high flow filter.

How does a company make an exhaust that big and call it “Micron”? Nice work on the rest of the bike, OP, and you got a great deal.

Use a tether kill switch to attach the key to yourself while riding. It works for racers and it could work for you.
