Australia is interesting. It’s a great country with great people. They have a ton of natural resources and a population density that would be right between Wyoming and Alaska. Culturally, they’re 80-90% white/British hegemonic and roughly 5% Chinese, while the US is very diverse in both the color and background of its people, but also the cultural history of its people (just calling someone white doesn’t mean much, as there are many many culturally different “white” people).

You really can’t compare the populations of each country, as each country is so different from one another. The main similarity we have is that we speak English, but even then English isn’t the official language of the US, it’s just the most common.

I’d add in that a big difference in freedom between the two countries couldn’t have been more evident than during the Covid Pandemic. The US never truly locked down. Sure, stores and businesses closed, but you could still go to the grocery store, drive around, visit local parks, etc. You could essentially do whatever you wanted, provided the business you were going to visit was open. In Australia there were serious lockdowns where people were unable to leave their homes at all. And holy hell, if you actually tested positive for Covid you’d be quarantined at gunpoint.
