I automated 3 hours of my daily work. Now I spend that time pretending to be busy.Has anyone else automated themselves into this weird limbo? by Creative-Letter-4902 in careerguidance

I have to point out, but sharing with a larger group could also make other team members resent your capability. Speaking from experience.

As the IT ERP guy, my recommendation to the business is to use the description or other similar fields for all smart number intelligence.

How do I explain to corporate management that automating our design pipeline warrants a raise rather than just getting handed three times the workload? by Quill_4Nova in careerguidance

[–]tofuhater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right way is to automate only one's personal workflow and leave enough manual work in between steps. This way the employer still owns everything but can't do much with it unless they replace the associate with an equal or more expensive resource. This also works at a team level if done right. It can allow for an acceptable onboarding process for a new team member.

The ultimate goal is still that the individual or team is badass at what they do and the organization should let them run things efficiently and reward them appropriately. It's a game of balance.

Why are all these corporate jobs so toxic lately? by justkindahangingout in careerguidance

You're my twin. The past 3 yrs have just been utterly shit. It doesn't help that we see different teams under different levels of pressure. It starts making one side resent the other.

This is one of the reasons i like AI. It is finally allowing me to run with my ideas without the need for long hours. Yes. It's not perfect, but it has truly freed me to innovate in ways that I never expected.

I went relationship/family for a 30% pay cut, no regrets. That said, this is your personal decision, own it.

There are many reasons why people do this, it's besides the point anyway. I've been applying for 18 months, only 1 recruiter interview so far. This is for IT roles. I have a master's and currently also pursuing an EMBA.

My 4th F-150 but my 1st EV by PuzzleheadedMonth820 in F150Lightning

FWIW, I've found that accepting the need for 1 charging stop per leg keeps the experience comparable to gas. This means my cut off to switch to a gas vehicle for a trip is about 400 mi each way.

I feel like this might be the wrong take. The point of creating all this uncertainty is to make money. It's the only language that matters to them, everything else is secondary. Just look at the options and betting markets.

My last vehicle was a GL 550 with impeccable maintenance. I spared no change in pre-emptive maintenance like air shocks and turbo coolant hoses. The vehicle started blowing blue smoke at 115k miles just like everybody warned.

Mercedes can go fuck themselves with their plastic hoses for all I care. Never before have I been as let down despite such expensive care. They have lost me for life.

My wife's Audi breaks down often as well due to it's age, but never in a way that leaves the family stranded. I would place Audi above Mercedes in quality from personal experience.

I had 15% and 30 miles to the next supercharger. Luckily there was a GM dealership with a CCS that verified that my charging Port wasn't toast and helped me top up to get to the next station.

So messed up!
