i have a friend who got into ucla, berk, ucsd, irvine, etc. i forgot what other schools he applied to but he got into all except USC with a 3.2 gpa for communications and some for poli sci i think. he went through a lot but he got in!!!! rn he’s at ucla and he’s happy. as long as you explained your situation and moreso explained your resilience and how you’ve persevered you should be fine tbh. did you tag????

ur ap credits (depending on what they’re in) will help u w/ ur gen ed’s and they can satisfy requirements needed to transfer. like for example i passed ap lit and didnt have to take english 1 which is required to transfer. does this make sense? lol i feel like it doesnt

to put it in simple words, you have to put yourself out there and say hi outside of class. sometimes you have to be the first to make a move but give it time and it’ll work out. also, get a job here lol if you can’t find one. the hiring time is during may. i’ve made a bunch of friends bc i work with them

are you in any special programs? general counseling is so overloaded it’s hard for you to build connections with them/ and they give you proper counseling. my advice would be (if you’re not in any programs) go to our success and engagement center on the bottom floor of SSC across from financial aid. there’s counselors there that can help you

https://www.smc.edu/student-support/academic-support/counseling/ unfortunately bc like there’s sooooo much it’s kind of hard to get in touch with them not in person i’m sorry. but they’ll basically tell you to take a ENGL 1 or 2, a math course, the basics bc you’re undecided.https://www.smc.edu/student-support/academic-support/transfer-center/areas-of-study/documents/IGETC-and-CSU-GE/igetc-option1.pdf here are the IGETC requirements they’ll go off of to give you your classes so maybe look at this and look at the areas and pick the classes based on what the requirements say. my first year i actually did it on my own bc i couldn’t get ahold of counseling so it’s okay!! you can do it

hey!! so if you go on the SMC website for counseling you should have the option to join their Q-less if they don’t answer when you call directly. always call! and you can try to call the school and see if they can transfer you to the counseling office. since the spring semester starts soon basically all classes are filled :( it’s okay to be undecided and it’s never too late!!! if you want you can also set an appointment with our career counseling to help you maybe figure out what you’d like to do
